How much of an increase?

I'm trying to get a 'guess-timate' of how much a Christmas 2009 will cost us? I've priced for Christmas 2008, and was curious how much of an increase to expect when we're finally able to book for 2009.

Also, if you had to choose, would you choose more days at a Value resort or less days at a Deluxe? I priced one of each 'type,' and I'm thinking we should go with 6 days/5 nights at a Value, instead of 5 days/4 nights at a Deluxe. While we'd love to get the experience of WL, I'm not sure it's worth it just to say 'we stayed there.' I priced All Star Movies, Coronado Springs, and Wilderness Lodge. We will be doing hopper passes as well as the dining plan, if those things influence your decisions any.

value - more days

around 8 to 10% - do 10% to be safe. It shouldn't go up that much - but might.

We always face this when we plan a trip. The choice of hotels is so personal. I would rather stay fewer days at a nicer resort, because that is important to my family. So we take fewer trips than many other people we know. But so many people on this board love the values and prefer them over the more expensive places. I think it just depends on what you think will make you happiest (more days vs. deluxe resort) and how much it means to you to stay at the WL.

I will add, however, that since you are planning for Xmas, you should check out the WL thread with the photos in it. The WL is stunningly decorated at Xmas, incredible really. Again, it depends on whether or not that makes any difference to you, but at that time of the year, many think that the WL is the best place on the property.

I say stay at value, but book dinner at Whispering Canyon Cafe. That way you have an excuse to go and look and take pix. WCC is wonderful, lots of fun for the kids if you have them. Just my opinion.
