How much of a thrill ride is 7DMT?

For those in the know: is there a way to request a seat in front? Or is it the luck of the draw? Thanks!

When you get to the front of the line, tell the CM there that you would like to sit at the front (or back). They will either deny your request or will have you wait for the next train, while they finish filling the current one.

This. ^^^ We do that for all of the coasters, except Space Mountain. It's worth waiting out a turn or two to ride in the back for us.

It's pretty tame, but BTMRR is also pretty tame. I took my mom on it, and she LOVED it. She would never ride a roller coaster at a regular amusement park, but she really liked this one. But she also really liked BTMRR....

I would say it's tame enough that even if he didn't particularly enjoy it, he would survive:)

It must depend on where you sit, because I found 7DMT to be surprisingly slow, and was disappointed by how short the hill was. I think it is much slower and smoother than BTMR.

I was not aware of a big drop on EE.

I'm not sure if you're just teasing, but EE is definitely the thrilliest coaster at WDW for me.fast, big drops, surprises. If you love coasters, don't miss it and if you're at all on the fence, I'd stay away from it!

My sis in law can sometimes enjoy a coaster if it's mild to moderate and if she can see the whole path of the coaster beforehand - neither is true of EE.

Unfortunately, I can't think of any coaster at WDW except maybe barnstormer where you can see what the whole ride does before deciding to ride it.

Funny thing is people will fly on an plane to Disney then chicken out on the coasters.

If you like coasters it is not thrilling at all.

If you do not like coasters, it's a small coaster but it is still a coaster. Coaster hating friends I have do not like the drops and won't ride it again.

You can ask and they will have you stand aside and wait for it. If it's very very chaotic in there, they might not let you wait, but sometimes they will. I have ridden it six times and never asked, but I have been in the front seat for four of those rides.

Disney coasters are all pretty tame compared to normal amusement park type coasters ala Six Flags. But for some reason Space Mountain left me with a sore neck the rest of the day. I think it was because it was almost all in the dark and you could not anticipate the turns to prepare your head and body for which way to brace. Because of that I usually skip Space Mountain.

So as long as you can see what is coming, the coaster can be tamed.

I am not a coaster person at all. Drops are even worse for me. Will never do ToT, Everest or Space Mountain for example.

Love Splash Mountain and I am on the fence about BTMR. Think I will be able to handle 7DMT at least once!

Yes, do it. I honestly think the Barnstormer is more thrilling than 7DMT . I believe Splash's main drop is steeper, faster and is longer than 7DMT. If you sit in the front (just ask) , you are halfway down the "big" hill before it even picks up speed .
You should do it at least once.

Mild, very smooth, and the dark ride portion is beautiful. Definitely worth a shot at least once.

I'm really on the fence about whether or not we want to try this ride. I will not do Splash Mountain at all or any of the "bigger coasters". I will do Space Mountain because if I can't see it, it doesn't exist. :rotfl2: I will also do BTMR. But drops scare me. My mom is worried that the carts will rock to much and she will get sick from the motion. I've heard really the carts don't rock enough to actually notice. Still not sure how I feel about it and we get to book our FP+ next month. :confused3

The rocking mostly smooths out the ride, and you won't feel it at all if you're near the front of the train. The drops are mild, just fun. If you can handle Space Mountain, this is much milder!

It's fun, but as others have said it's relatively tame. My Wife and I are thrill ride junkies and our ride picture says it all. I think we were discussing dinner plans.
