I was just wondering how much money you think teens should bring to wdw for souvenirs. We will also be visiting universal studios, seaworld and Florida mall.

I think a lot depends on their spending habits. Last time we went we were there for 16 days. DS was 14 at the time. He brought $200 and only bought a $5 t-shirt (although he spent another $75-$100 buying junk food in the parks). DD was 16 (turned 16 during the trip). She brought $300 and then borrowed another $100 from me (she bought a Dooney purse and wallet at the outlet mall, plus a bunch of other stuff).

Agree with Darcy. How do your kids shop? I have one son who is an impulse buyer, he tends to like a lot that he sees. My other son is the exact opposite, he wants that special some thing,.

luckily for me I have sons and disney is definitely more "princess" specific when it comes to souveneirs. so by the time my sons turned 16 or so, there really wasn't a lot that they wanted. Every one gets a tee shirt for the trip so after that they did not spend much.

My sons usually have a few hundred bucks (~150 to 200) but we don't do malls on vacations.

Thanks, by the time we go she will either be 18 or just about to turn 18, its part of her birthday present as we are going for several reasons. She loves shopping, but she's not too bad if its her own money. She wants to save up for it, but also needs money for now so I was wondering about a rough figure for her to save up for, she has a year to do it

I agree it really depends on the kid. We went just to Disney last year and DS10 and ds12 had 10 each. DS12 came home with a 110 and went a bought a pair of sneakers! He had no interest in anything there and wanted to save his money. Ds10 was still into the novelty stuff like bubble gun, light up string toy, etc.

This summer we are going to Universal. I think they might spend a bit more because they like those characters/rides more...

I've already started buying gift cards for them. If they don't use them, I will buy them back like I did at Disney and put them towards the room charges!
