In one of the threads, it was asked how much money you spent during a vacation at Disney. Let's assume that this does not include lodging or Disney theme park tickets.

We normally average about $200 on souvis......$700 of food/drinks & $75 on tips for a week at WDW.....

$975 a week for a family of 3 who likes counter service food & beer.....

:cool1:

beer? hmmmmm *rethinking her first answer* kidding - we don't drink that much, but one or two drinks while sitting by the water at OKW sound FANTASTIC right now!

There are only 2 of us, so probably $50-100 each day.

In order to get some consistency, maybe you should have said per person per day. Anyway for us 3 (DH, me, and DD (10)) I think the last few trips we've ended up above the $200 day mark. BUt we do probably spend a couple hours a day at one of many favorite "watering holes" (We have one at each park, and each resort LOL!) We have a tendency to move mid stay, which last time meant about about $50 in tips for bell services , We ALWAYS valet, skycap, etc. so lots more tips, and we always hit the outlet stores. I know we spend too much on shopping, but last November, I actually did 3-4 people on my Chistmas list.

Well, it's only Madam Gracey and me, but we are still in the $400+ category if you are including food. In fact, it's really the food that is our largest expense.

Now that being said, a lot depends on what exactly is included in the daily amount. You said it doesn't include lodging or tickets, but what about airfare and rental car? How about the expense for our cat sitter (this costs more than one would think)?

I figured everything except what you noted. I took our average expenditures, and divided by the number of days we visit. :drinking:

For our family of 6 during Dec. We spent about $221 per day....I didn't include airfare, lodging or passes...did include the cost of a rental car though and the couple special chrismas events we attended...

My guess is that our Easter trip will be a bit lower...

Our December trip came in very low! For the 4 of us, we averaged $70 a day. We took $600 cash, $100 in Target gift cards and 14 meal vouchers ($150 cash value). I charged about $80 of souvies the whole trip. Our stay was 16 nights. We didnt really try to be so budgeted, and were willing to spend more, but we had a great time and didnt really need or want to.

We did put all our gas purchases on a gas card (rebates) so about $300 in gas total for the entire trip. (we drove)

Tickets and lodging are definitely the biggest expense.

For us, a Disney trip starts 6:30 pm on Friday and ends at 11:00 pm the following Sunday. We do this three times a year. I include gas and toll, travel snacks - (we drive straight thru,no meal stops) , AP's, tours, MVMCP, mini golf, Christmas gifts and food. I posted on another thread we spend approx $4000.00 per year. Using 27 days as my total trip time, we're just under $150.00 per day.

You are correct, in order to have some consistency it probably should have been per person per day. I did think of this shortly after setting up the poll but within minutes of my setting up the poll, I started gettting responses so I decided to leave it as it is. Still it has value as an indicator of what people can expect to spend while at Disney.

I didn't read teh not to include park tickets, but it still dodn't change the answer. Including park tickets it is about $37.50 per person per day (family of four with PAP's and minimum of 30 days per year inteh parks). I do a balance of cooking and restaurants (both on and off site). I don't really buy souveneers, the kids have their own money and I don't budget any for them for that purpose. Occasionally I will make a trip to Belz, then I might buy them a treat or myself a sweatshirt, but I doubt it changes the :flower: budget either.
