How much luggage will they hold until your room is ready?

We're arriving Saturday at the Boardwalk Villas for our first DVC stay, and will be there at about noon, so our room likely wont be ready. Do we have to leave all our stuff in our car (which will then be a loooong walk from the parking lot to our room once it is ready), or can we leave our stuff with them? I asked that because we have a couple medium size boxes full of food along with our suitcases and bags, so I didnt know if they would actually hold on to all that for us. Also, do they have any luggage carts we can use? If our room is ready, do they have a cart to help us lug all that stuff since our room will likely be far away being that its standard view? Thanks for any help in advance.

They will help you get everything (even boxes of food) in storage, and when you get your room, just call from the room and they will bring everything to your room. Don't worry about it -- they will make it all easy! It's well worth the tip you will give them.

We had 21 pieces of luggage that they held for us and then put in our connecting rooms when they were ready. We checked in about 9:30am so be sure we received the connecting rooms we needed, we were staying at Pop Century. We received a card with a number to call to see if the room was ready and then went to MK. We called about 2pm and it was ready so we were transfered to luggage and they had the bags, etc in our room when we got there. Great service.

It IS a great service - please don't forget to tip generously for this service!!

bell service will store any and all of your items. If you have items that need refrigeration, seperate them and identify them to the bell person you check with. What I have done in the past is to tip the service person who has taken my items about $3 per suitcase and $ 2 per cooler storage...then tipped a flat $ 10-$20 to the bell person who delivers those items to my room.

Thanks for the help, sounds like it'll work great with them. I'll definitely be sure to tip well, its easily worth it for us to be able to avoid doing all that. Thanks again

I've seen bellman pushing one cart and pulling another at the same time, so they will handle as many bags/boxes as you have.

You cannot use the carts yourself.

I was walking through the wilderness lodge lobby once, and saw a bellhop bringing in two full carts and a box fell off the top, full of pringle cans, and other groceries, it scattered everywhere--poor guy. It looked as if those people were moving in for a month.

One of the bellhops told me, that people sometimes don't tip or just hand him a dollar for a full cart of bags, and that it's his job to just smile and say thank you. But, then he also said that every once and while, someone gives him a great tip and that makes his day. :)
