OMG! I cannot even imagine what you and Maddy are going through, Stepharoonie. Sometimes the laws just don't make sense, this guy should NOT be allowed to be with Maddy without someone who actually CARES about her supervising. I would keep an eye on that sunburn, take pictures again to show how long it stayed red, then how much it peels. I am so sorry for you guys, but I am firm believer in "What goes around, comes around". He'll get his, and you will get Maddy-full custody- and he will get supervised visitation. What is concerning me the most is what she is NOT talking about...

Stephanie, your story breaks my heart. I too, would get her to the Pediatrician asap and petition the court for an emergency hearing Today!! I wouldn't let this go on any further. She deserves so much better than what she has right now. She needs to be living with you immediately.

I am so sorry that Maddy is having to go through this. I think the counseling idea that someone mentioned is an excellent idea. The bruise under her eye could have been caused by something she did that she's too embarrassed to admit, or it could have been caused by something she was not responsible for. If something beyond the "usual" stress of having 2 families is going on, maybe the counselor can get her to open up.

BTW - Will you be at AKL next week? I'm not staying there, but I will be over there a time or two to eat. My mom (a DIS lurker) and I would love to meet you. If not this trip then maybe the next.

It angers me to hear that your ex is that way. It also makes me sad. Growing up my parents were divorced and that alone is hard enough. I pray for Maddy to make it through and she will she seems like a strong little girl. I would have to agree with others in that I think that you should take her to the dr. It can only help you and maybe he can give Maddy something for the pain. My concern is though why Maddy does not want to be with her dad, I doubt it is the sunburn, it has to be something else. And it probably isn't going to be something you will at all like to hear or see. I like the idea of possibly you and Maddy going to a psychologist. I think that will be good for her and for your case in court. They can "read" things from pictures that she draws or even just the way she does something. I know that you love your little princess, and I think I would talk to your lawyer about the fact that Maddy is frightened to be with her dad.

As for the saying things about her dad in front of her, I can't even beleive that anyone would think that you would do that. I mean I don't know you very well but from what I do know I could never get that impression from you. I wish you the best. I hope you get full custody! And truthfully IMO I hope he doesn't get any visitation rights.

It just makes me sick to my stomach to read of what some people will do/say to their children just to *get back* at the other parent. Regardless of the arrangements.........I would let Miss Maddy be the one to decide if she wants to go to her daddy's or not. I have always told my kids it is up to them if they want to go visit or not.

You, your dbf and Miss Maddy remain in my thoughts and prayers that this is done and behind you soon. Stay strong Steph, Maddy is sure a lucky little angel to have such a special mommy!!
