How much laundry is normal??

When piles of stinky tshirts and dried-out-sweaty socks start attacking you in your bed at night,

THEN......................it is too much laundry. That is why I try to keep the laundry mountain JUST below the hazardous level.

I really think this is what sold me on John (my fiance)

he's a sportswriter, so plenty macho, but

... he does our laundry. :)

I feel like I am constantly doing laundry over here. I do at least one load a day just so I can try to keep up on it. Mostly though, I spend all weekend doing it to catch up. I do try to start a load in the morning and then another at night. But it never stops. Partly because sweetpea always is needed her uniform washed for games (two games a week) plus she get so dirty at practice that I have to wash lots of those clothes too. Towels are a never ending pile as well. I never realize how many towels I own till I have to wash, dry and fold them all. I have given up on hampers completely. We just take our dirty clothes straight to the garage/laundry room and put them right into the laundry baskets. Thats when we separate the laundry. That way when the basket is full, then its the next load to go in. But there is always a mountain of dirty clothes. UGH! Who knew I owned that many pairs of underwear anyways?

Wow, I get off easy! There are four of us and I do four loads of clothes on "laundry day", and 3 loads of sheets and towels during the week. (We each use one towel for several days)

I like to run full loads, so I do a load when I change the sheets on our bed and throw in the towels one day, then another load when I change the boys beds several days later with more towels. I do a third load of towels after our swimming night so we can do suits and beach towels at the same time. Exercise clothes and things I go through daily like wash cloths and dish rags just get tossed in the washer right away and go through whatever load is being washed.

I do occassionally run another load for emergency items, but generally it's pretty much the same schedule.

8 loads a week? That is easy! We average 21 loads a week.

We have to do at least 2-3 a day to be "caught up" and that doesn't mean done. Laundry is never done, always something to wash.

I used to let our laundry pile up and spend 2 full days washing, drying and folding. When we moved(now living with a friend until our house is built.) I had to keep up with the laundry more. So now I wash 2 loads on Monday, 1 on Wednesday, 1 on Friday. Plus 2 loads per week of towels and 1 load of whites. Plus our bed linens once a week. If I wash everyother day than it all fits in one large and over stuffed :teeth: load. Over the weekend I don't do any laundry, so Monday is always 2 loads. So over all I do about 8 loads and that's the minimum. If the weather is cool and I'm washing jeans instead of shorts....forget it. I got a load in the dryer and washer right now and I already folded towels from yesterday.

So, do you fold your clothes as they come out of the dryer...or let them sit and get dressed out of the basket. :lmao: I'm somewhere in between. ;)
