0$ for me. We live in the parsonage of a church :teeth: . Still, gotta save as if we were paying a mortage, although we are not quite as disciplined about that as we should be (darn WDW vacations :lmao: )

1381 without taxes and ins. We refinance in April, and we are looking at about $2000 with everything.

$1625 for the mortgage on a 1600 sq ft (plus full daylight basement), 30 year old ranch on 1.5 acres in Connecticut. We put 20% down (using equity from the last house(s) ).

We pay another $80 a month for insurance and roughly $4000 a year in taxes, although the taxes will be increasing in the next year or so when the bonds pass to rebuild all three grade schools in our region (district).

So, total payments, if we escrowed, would be about $2040.

$895 for our mortgage. We do not escrow our taxes, but use the money that we put away for dependent childcare to pay our taxes at the end of the year.

We really do not have that much equity in the house, as we rolled the costs of the international adoption of two kids back into our house payment.

$885 per month for principle, interest, taxes, and insurance on a 1700 square foot house on about an acre of woods, with a creek, in a cute and popular URBAN neighborhood (was the 'burbs once upon a time, and the city grew around it).We are in North Florida which is not nearly as expensive as central and south Florida.

Refinanced it from 81/2% to 5% a couple of years ago, took out some equity, kept the payments the same, and cut a few years off the mortgage by going for a 15 year (from a 30 year) mortgage. Bought the house 13 years ago and it hardly appreciated at all in the first 7 or 8 years we had it but is now worth about 2 1/2 times what we paid for it, and it's worth a little bit more than the median price of houses in our city.

Paid. I get the deed tomorrow morning from the attorneys. $1500 a year in taxes...

Just a little over 1500, but that includes insurance and city and county taxes in escrow for a 3200 sq. ft. house. But, unfortunately, it is for 30 yrs.

Paid Off. We got our original mortgage in 1987. We tried for a 15 year mortgage (I wasn't working at the time) and they turned us down. They said we couldn't afford it. So, we took the 30 year note and paid it off in 16 years -- ha, ha -- I guess they were right?

Now all we have is the tax bill -- $3200 a year -- ouch! Good thing I'm working now.

My DH took an early retirement in 2003. If the mortgage had not been paid in full, he would never have had that opportunity.

$1700 including taxes. It'll be paid off around 12 more years.

$650.00 for about 1300 square feet, four (small) bedrooms, only one (very small) bathroom. We've already outgrown it, and its just DH, 20-month old DD, and myself. Obviously we have enough bedrooms, but we have too much stuff and not enough storage. We're looking to move as soon as we get some other debt paid off first!

Brace yourselves ... my sister (roommate) and I rent 700 sq. ft. in the West Village in NYC (around the corner from the apartment building in the intro to "Friends") and we pay a touch over $2900 excluding parking. We do have doormen though, which is like having the perks of a husband without the downsides (ha), and the street is cobblestone with anything in the world within walking distance. We like that.

1376.00 not including insurance. It would have been a lot more but we sold our old house that we paid 70,000. cash for 7 years ago and we sold it for waaaay more in august. So we were able to put down a very large down payment on our new house. I looove my new house :goodvibes

For those with houses that are paid for - I'm Jealous!! :worship:

For those with huuuge (to me) mortgages - Wow!! :scared1:

Our payment for mortgage and escrow is ~$1200, but we pay an additional $200 to principal each month. We built our house in '04, 4 bed/3 bath 3300 sf, and put about 30% down on it.

We live just outside Boston...where prices are crazy...we pay a tad over $5k...it's just the way it is around here...and we are single income! But DH is his own boss so no fear of getting laid off!

I was embarassed at my payment until I read that you seem to be in the same boat as us, Boston, self employed etc, single income. Ours comes in at about $4,000. for everything with a 15 year amortization. The worst part is our taxes! Since we bought 5 years ago our tax assessment has increased over $600,000. !!! Taxes have gone up even more with many new schools and town facilities.

Our very close friends live in house worth roughly $1.2 million and have a summer house (waterfront) worth easily $2.5-$3 million yet the best is that they haven't had any mortgages on them since 1983 (23 years) and they are only in their mid 50s. Clearly their houses have been their best investments. Both of them grew up in housing projects but got great educations and have created amazing careers for themselves. (no they aren't pro athletes or entertainers, nor doctors or lawyers). For so many reasons they are amazing role models!!!!

Wow-- I'm almost embarassed to say-- we pay $469.70 for our mortgage only. It's a 20yr mortgage and we put nothing down.

We have a 1400 sq ft 4 bedroom/1bath house. We did invest about $30,000 cash to update it since it's 120 yrs old.

Insurance= $225 annually
Taxes= $1900 approx they just increased the value of our home again and they just went up. That includes a village tax as well.

Ours is a little over $600 including property taxes and insurance. I dont know the exact amount becuase I do always write the check for more. Gotta get this paid off as it is a 30 YEAR loan :scared:

How many square feet do you get for that?

About $1900 here...for 3500 square feet.

2076 square feet and 8500 square foot lot. Homes your size start in the area of 1.5 million. We miss our home in Ohio, 1750 square foot, 1/4 acre(stream running through back) and $925.00 month. This was only 3 years ago. We have extensive rehab to do(plumbing, flooring, update all appliances), and plan on investing $15,000-20,000 each year for the next 3 or 4 years. We've got great weather here...but there's a heck of a price to live here!
