How much is your 2018 trip costing you?

We are coming from the UK in October for 9 night 2 adults 1 child 1 infant (needs seat on plane). 9 nights beach club garden view (we got free upgrade from Saratoga springs) 14 day park hoppers (uk standard ticket purchase) and free dining plan was £3267 - so about $4200. Air fair for 4 was £1400 so about $1800. All in approx $6000. We also get $100 gift card (again uk exclusive I think). I was pretty pleased with that.

Our invoice has a £855 credit on it for the beach club upgrade so I assume we would have paid that in addition if we had initially booked beach club.

I am just wondering. What kind of souvenirs do your 2 children buy for $1600? Is it expensive jewelry. You must have to bring extra suitcases to get it back home. lol

Sadly for Disney the younger one did spend her money but most of it went to Universal on her 1 day Harry Potter journey. The 17 year old brought back almost $800. Said she found nothing worth buying anymore. Her major buys were a ToT bathrobe and a huge Stitch for her bed.

We were adopted by a cockatiel. (Although DS keeps calling her a cockatrice!)

I say that we were adopted by her because she quite literally landed on our back deck one day a few months ago. Totally friendly and lovely so was obviously well cared for but even after we posted all over the city and local Facebook pages, no one came forward to claim her...so we now own a bird!

While we thought her owners would claim her, we called her "Rental" since she was not ours. Once we finally admitted that she was not going anywhere, we changed the name to "Renny".

I totally lucked out with the bird hotel, the one in our area only takes small birds and at $7/day it is a steal!

I only have 250.00 in Disney gift cards but i probably should at least get another 250.00. My husband and other daughter aren't going on this trip they wanted to go to Mexico next month. My husband don't get a lot of PTO like I do. So my mom is going with us. I paid for the trip she purchased the airfare.

We hire one of our vet techs to stay in our house we have to fly and have three dogs. My frenchie would not like being in a new place it would give him anxiety. He is only 2 but I would spend the money on them as well!!

Maybe I'm a Universal apologist, but this doesn't sound all that crazy to me. A one day park hopper at WDW is going to cost $185-195pp, right? Like WDW, the price goes down each day at Universal. You pay a premium for one day, but the good news is that one day with the Universal Express allows you to experience just about everything.
