How much is/was your wedding?

WOW!!! Some of those numbers are truly amazing to me! I just can't imagine spending $40,000 on an event for one day, but that's just me.

Dh and I were married almost 3 years ago (my 2nd marriage, his 1st). I really didn't want to do the whole big wedding thing again but because he had never been married and I have 4 kids we wanted to make it very special for them. It wound up costing some where between 30,000.00 and 40,000.00. But as some others have posted in this area that is about what you are going to pay for the whole thing. It was the most wonderful day and the kids had a such a great time. They love watching the wedding video and always ask if we can have another wedding!

our's was about 18,000 10 years ago. That included everything from the flowers, to the dress to the honeymoon. Our families paid for it, thank goodness. I had always wanted a traditional wedding with a big dress, church, nice reception. I don't regret it, but if I were to do it all over again, I would probably do a desitnation wedding instead.

Ours was 10 yrs ago. Cost us around $5,000. Parents paid for food & decorations. We paid for the rest. I couldn't imagine spending $20,000 for a wedding. That could go to saving for a house? Just my opinion.

Wedding? We got married at the courthouse, so whatever the fee was. Probably 50 bucks, tops.
We went to Olive Garden after, which we didn't pay for.
We spent a night in a hotel downtown, and that was probably a couple hundred.

I would say mine was under $500 dollars.

I couldn't imagine spending $20,000 for a wedding. That could go to saving for a house? Just my opinion.

We bought a house right before we got married and still had an expensive wedding (albeit mostly paid for by parents), so the two aren't mutually exclusive.
