Hi,

We last stayed at the Dolphin during our Aug into Sept of 2003 trip. At that time valet was $10 a day. Is it still that price or has it gone up? I thought I remember someone posting that it was going up to $14 a night. Could someone please confirm?

Thanks,

bumping my own post. Do any of the S/D fans know the answer to this?

wow, 10 is alot but 14 is outragious. I don't know the answer but someone must, if not call the S/D and ask them, you'll get it right out of the cats mouth :D

Last time I was there it was $10. That is actually much closer to the industry standard. (I normally pay around $12) Disney charges less then anyplace else I valet.

Self parking is free at S/D and is pretty easy.

It was $14 when we where there in December. And the really bad part is that if you want to valet park at any of the Disney owned resorts for dinner, it is another $6. :( We went to the AKL for dinner on Thanksgiving and it was packed. We could not find a parking space and ended up paying the $6 on top of the $14 that we already paid at the Swan. That would have paid for a fast food lunch for the 2 of us. Gee... and that isn't even counting the tips. My DH tips when he drops of and picks up.

Thanks for the replies and confirm about the $14. We will self park at the Dolphin. Thanks again. See I knew someone would know the answer.:D

If you are staying at the Dolphin and self park, make sure they don't charge you for valet parking, last year we stayed at the Swan and they kept charging me the $10 daily for valet. Two days on a row they took it off because I went down to the desk, the thrid day I got mad and I asked the bell staff for my car keys, they couldn't find them. They asked if my husband had taken the car somewhere , I said no, he's here. When they realized that they actually never had the car keys, they took the valet charge code off. That was the end of it. But for four days they charged me for a valet parking fee when they never even had the car keys to park the car.

Yes it is, free if you self park.

I am just now back and visited the Swan and Dolphin resorts to plan for a stay in July. Valet parking is $14 and is only good for the Swan and Dolphin. So, if you valet park at a Disney Hotel for dinner you will pay an additional $6. This does not include the service gratuity you also pay directly to the valets.

The self parking for the Dolphin is near the Convention Center - a little distance from the main entrance. You don't use the main entrance coming off the roadway, you take the second one.

During our summer trip, we were able to park at the end of self-park closest to the valet area @ Swan. Normally always under a tree which helped keep the car cooler if we did need to take it somewhere. Usually we were only 6 or 8 rows out, but a few times further. It was just a minute or two to get up to the convention center doors of the Swan and walk down that hallway to the elevator. For the ease we had there I would never use Valet. Only once did we walk in during a rainstorm, but it was fun! :p For our 10 nites at the Swan @ $14 per day plus tip, that buys our Fantasmic dinner package plus at least 4 to 5 counter service meals without even considering a tip. No way, valet! (sorry- no offence to any valet workers!)
