We are driving for 14 hours to Orlando with a 9 yo, 5yo and 2 yo- probably over 2 days in Sept. We are staying at AKL for 6 nights. I think we are getting the 4 day park hopper passes. We are also considering Sea World or Kennedy Space Center ( 9 yo really wants to go to the space center more than WDW.) Is that too much to try to do? Will we won't a day at AKL for the pool, playground, etc. downtown Disney and so on? Would 5 day passes be better?

Thanks! There is so much to consider, and I don't think we will go back to Orlando for several years.

If you're not adverse to splitting up maybe one of you could take your 9 yo to the Space Center while the other spends a low key day with your 5 yo and 2 yo (pool, playground).

As far as tickets go I'd buy the longest pass you can now and save some days for another trip. The tickets are good forever and the prices will only go up.

I think with young children it is a good idea to build in an off park day. No matter how much fun they have in the parks they are very taxing on little bodies.

I would go with at least a 5 day pass. It is so much better to have a left over day than to be short. Also the longer passes are a better deal. I would second the split up and take the oldest to KSC alone. It is a bit of a drive and your younger ones will need rest anyway. I am not a fan of Sea World so I can't give any advice on that.

I'd recommend just staying at WDW this trip. You can alternate with heavy Park days and then a more relaxing resort day (swim, shop, etc.) or sleep in a few mornings and then hit the Parks later to stay for the evening events.
Personally, my kids would never want to leave WDW early to go somewhere else! My DS had a fit one year when we left 2 days early to go to Vero Beach!! Being in a car is very draining. I'd minimize that part of it until the kids are older and more into where you'd be going.

We love Sea World, but I agree that if you try to squeeze too much into one trip everyone will get over taxed. Please be aware the KSC is a pretty long drive, I agree that the oldest may appreciate it, but the younger ones may not. We buy the 7 day passes and make them last 2 or 3 trips, buy the longest passes you can afford. AKL is AWESOME.....have a great trip....Lacee
