Do you have a limit per night you are willing or able to spend at a WDW resort? When we had just one income we always stayed at whatever the cheapest option was. Occasionally if a great deal (code) we were able to do a moderate. Now that we have two incomes we have a little more leeway and will stay at Wilderness Lodge (still with a code) for the first time.

Room rates just seem to be getting so high. My mom and I stayed at the Poly for $60 a night back when I was a teenager but sadly I know we can never afford to stay there again. So I'm wondering at what level do you say to yourself "I can't go any higher than that". For us its $200.

We booked the GF concierge level, Ist very much money I know but we hope to have an "Magicall time".

I put $500 or less, but honestly, we pay more than that if it is the room we want. It's a trade off, we go less often, but splurge on more stuff when we do go.

The truth is we'll pay for the resort and room category we want, but we tend to go in value season because it is a little less expensive. We usually only go to WDW every other year so we have two years to save, but that's partly because I'm pretty set on the deluxe resorts.

Our next trip will be August of 08 and we are doing the CR with a Tower Magic Kingdom view room.

We use codes, mostly AP or TA rates, so we stay club level a lot.
If I can't get a deluxe in the 300 range though we'll stay at Swan/Dolphin instead.

Let me put it this way, we base it on the overall cost.

We currently have March '08 reservations for 9 nights, 7 day park hopper passes with DDP (not the new Deluxe) at POFQ our total package is $4150.74.

We called today to get a quote for WL and the exact same package is $5,799. We just CAN'T justify that in our mind.

We are also planning a 3-full day trip to DL followed by 1-1/2 weeks in Hawaii for June '08. I think if I didn't have that trip already planned, and promised to my DD, I would bit the bullet and go with WL but I just can't do it. If it were around $500 for the upgrade I would do it.

I put $200, but for my dream hotel, I might shell out $250. In all honesty, we could afford to pay $1000 a night, but I just cant justify it. I keep seeing posts where people say that their package is 7,000 - 8,000 and have smiley faces galore...spending that much money, I just wouldnt be able to enjoy my vacation =( I wish I could....because GF has always been my dream.

$200 is my limit although I usually end up booking values. I also can not justify paying more than that for one small room and I don't care if it would come with a view of the castle.

I guess we are lucky, living in the DC area most of the room costs at Disney seem cheap (I see the NYC and LA heads nodding). We go during Value season but if we truly want to do something on a vacation or my heart is set on a resort we do it. We dont go overboard but we dont skimp as well. We love AKL, hehe I guess hes glad I have not fallen in love with the GF Concierge or something like that ;-)

We have no kids, good jobs and live within our means so the once a year vacation we don't set a "budget" on. With food, gifts etc its not out of the norm for our trips to run 5 or 6 grand.

We have AP's and I basically go with the least expensive deluxe with an AP discount which usually ends up being WL or AKL. We also stay at the Swan & Dolphin when the price is right (we have snagged them for $99 a night). If I can't find a good rate at a deluxe, we have also stayed a moderates which are fine (except I do miss valet parking at the end of a long day in the parks). Would I love to stay at Poly LV or CR MK view - sure. But I can't justify paying $500 plus a night for a room even with a view of the castle. There are too many other things I could do with that money - like an extra trip to DW or even  adding it to our retirement fund.

I would have to say $275.00 because that's what I'll be paying per night at the WL next year. We usually stay at the CBR and it was lots less. I had to really think about that extra $900.00 it would take to bump up to the WL. I pondered and figured, pondered and figured and then my husband got a side job that paid $1,000.00 cash! No more pondering and figuring! Wilderness Lodge shifted from being a dream to a reality!

Really? I get great rates at 4 star hotels in NY and DC all the time. I just use Expedia and usually end up pay $150 or less a night.

If I could find a WDW Deluxe (even AKL or WL) for $150 a night, I would jump at it. I know it has happened in the past, but Ive never found one. The cheapest I have ever seen AKL on Expedia is $220 for a standard =(
