We are considering TIW instead of the DDP for our next trip. Do DVC members get a discount?

It is available to Annual Passholders and Florida residents. Provides a 20% discount on food and beverage at most table service and a few counter service restaurants at WDW and VB. The cost to Florida residents is $85. AP get it for $60. A second card for spouse is $25. Card is valid for one year.

Also, an 18% gratuity is automatically added to the check at table service restaurants. This was a new feature that began 1/1/08.

Just to clarify, you have to be a FL Resident or AP holder. It is not available to DVC members without those.

The card is not valid on holidays, ie... July 4th, Christmas eve and Christmas Day, New year's eve and day... As long as you dine together you will only need one card, it is good for up to 10 people. Also they add 18% tip, so if you get this card, be careful not to double tip, that would wipeout the discount. FYI, we get the TIW (DDE) card every year with our APs.

We get the TIW card and like it better than DDP. You do get 20% of your entire bill (which includes alcohol). But as posted it is for AP holders and Fla. residents. We have recouped the member fee with no problem at all.

We just used our TIW card this past trip.

Since we are a party of 6 we are automatically charged 18% tip anyway, so it really pays off for us.

AND... we DID get to use it on Christmas Eve at Le Cellier!

I wasn't expecting to be able to as I knew the restrictions, but I gave it to the waitress with our KTTK card. It actually had become habit at that point and forgot it wasn't supposed to be valid. I didn't even realize that it wasn't supposed to work it until I read this post! :rotfl:

I don't know if we're going to get AP's next year (ours expire in June), but if we don't, The thing I will miss the most is the TIW card!

We just purchased annual passes and TiW during our December trip. We love TiW already. This year we had double points because of our initial offering but in the future we're not sure that it will be worthwhile to get annual passes. I think we we're going to miss TiW when we can't get it anymore.
On another note we had heard that we couldn't use TiW for the Candlelight Processional Dinner. We presented the card to have them apply it to the bottle of wine that we bought and they gave us the discount for the whole dinner. No complaints here.

So let me make sure I understand how this works:surfweb: If I have an AP, I can get the TIW card for $60 which gets me 20% off on all table service including alcohol for all 4 family members??popcorn::

Also good at most resort counter service locations & it is not good at ALL table service locations. Pretty much the list of TS restaurants that participate in the DDP also accept the TIW.

Does the TIW have a photo on it? What stops a friend of a TIW guest from using it?? Just curious??

They can and do ask for an ID. While we've never been asked at a TS location (we believe that is because our KTTW card has the same name on it). We have been asked for a ID when using the card at the food courts at Pop and the All/Stars (on several occassions).

::yes:: I am almost always asked at POP Century. And have been asked for photo ID at several EPCOT TS restaurants.

A little discussed fact: if you lose your card, you have to pay $25 to replace it. Ask me how I know...
