Here in Iceland it is $1050 :scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

How much is it in the US? - Unfortunately I can´t buy it in the US since we don´t use the same system here (we use Pal 2).

I paid $599 at Target in NJ.

It's pricey, but well worth it. My HD TV LOVES the Blu Ray movies and even our old DVD's look sharper! I just bought Motorstorm, which is a mud racing game and it is SUCH a blast!! As you're racing you get mud splatters on the screen like you would on a visor! :lmao: The other really excellent game is Resistence: Fall of Man. The only problem is I get caught up looking at how cool it is and get killed! :lmao:

Around $600 here at Costco't there. Is there some kind of converter that you could buy so that you could use the system there Freyja?

There's a $500 version and a $600 version in the US. The $500 version doesn't have built in wireless, a smaller hard drive, and a few other negatives. Most folks are buying the $600 if they are in stock.

In Continental Europe it's €599 and in the UK about £399. Both prices are considerably less than $1050 and i.e. the German and the British Playstation are both PAL-versions. So you may want to check out wether i.e. Amazon.de or Amazon.co.uk also deliver to Iceland.
And I can second what Fitswimmer said: Motorstorm is an absolute blast. I got my PS3 hooked up to a FullHD-LCD-screen and a Dolby Surround System and can only say :dance3:

I´ve looked into that. But with taxes and V.A.T this price ends up being the same.

A little off topic.....For those who have one of the PS3's how has the backwards compatability held up. Do your PS2 games play on it well? I am looking at getting a 3 but I still want to make sure it plays my old games as well. Also with PS2 games I assume you just save your games to the harddrive instead of the memory cards

My PS2 games look even better on the PS3. Now, I'm not sure that every old game will play on the PS3-it may be like the XBOX 360 where certain XBOX games didn't work. I have both Lego Star Wars, Kingdom Hearts I and II and God of War and they all work great on the new system.

You can save to the hard drive, but you can also get a card to move your saves from your PS2 over to the hard drive, so if you don't want to lose your place in a game you don't have to.

Thanks. The Kingdom Hearts games are the ones I was really worried about.
