Trying to price a trip and then compare when this mystery package comes out. Looking at ASMo during Value Season. The Disney site says rooms start at $77. I am getting a total price that works out to about $87 per night--I think that includes tax. Is the tax really that high? Am I getting the $77 per night rate plus about $10 in tax, or is the room rate higher?

It is so hard to figure things out on the Disney Site because they seem to "fudge" the numbers and don't itemize things.

I did make sure I have standard view--not preferred--so I know that isn't making a difference.

thanks!

If memory serves room tax is 11% or possibly higher but I am pretty sure it is still 11%.

We just got back Sunday from WDW. Seems like the bill showed 6.5% FL state tax plus 5% resort tax so 11.5%

The hotels are in different counties so the taxes are different. The taxes on the All Stars are 13% (most of the others are 11.5%). So 87.00 per night would be right.

11.5% is correct for all WDW resorts, except the All Star resorts. They are either 12% or 12.5% state and county tax. The difference? The All Star resorts are in Osceola County, which has a higher tax than Orange County.

Thanks! I guess I just didn't pay enough attention before to realize the tax rate was that high. I was using Room Codes and getting such a cheap rate it didn't seem to matter as much!
