How much is due when booking?

Just curious how much of the balance is due when you book your package online and when is the final balance due?

I believe it's $200 when you book and the remaining balance is due 45 days before your arrival date.

Yep $200 is all that is due when you book.

and our travel agent advised AGAINST us paying in full at booking (which we had wanted to do) because sometimes deals come up in between booking and the trip and it's easier to take the balance off total due than refund the money.

I recently made a room only reservation directly through the Disney website and had to pay one night as the deposit (more than $200). So not sure if that's because I did not get a package or not.

We've always paid the $200 deposit and then yes, our total has always been discounted prior to our full payment being due.

On a side note, if you open a Disney Visa card you can also put the whole trip on there and receive six months free financing. Not to encourage you to put it all on a credit card but it's a nice option if needed and we got about $250 in points that we were able to use while there too.

Ahh...thanks. I was wondering if it was because I didn't use a travel agent or something. We get discount tickets through my company so I plan to purchase them separately once I settle on which parks we will be visiting.

Another note about room only. You can make payments along the way just like a package if you want. We had room only last time and I paid all but about $300 of my room charge before we went. Balance is due the day of arrival.

I have my phone text me whenever there is a charge above a certain amount and I got a text at approximately 3:00 (check-in time) that day. We were still on the road having sat in traffic due to an accident on I-4. We had stopped for a bathroom break when I got the text. Checked in 30 minutes later.

Good to know! I assumed it wouldn't be done until we got there.
