Because Florida is SO HOT all of the time, we're lucky enough to basically buy t-shirts and shorts for most of the year. I won't even look at fall items until closer to December.

We purchased 11 pairs of shorts and skirts, 11 shirts, and three packs of underwear for about $120. I really only looked for things that were on clearance at stores, and there were lots of Disney items to be found.

What about you? I still need to get sneakers...my DD's dad bought her Bratz sneakers, but they're going back. We don't allow Bratz here, and he knows that...

$0.00. I'm rather lucky, my Mom does most of his school clothes shopping when he goes to see her in the summer. That may change this year though.

I know he got new shoes already. Guess I'll find out for sure when I got to Nashville next week to sepnd a few days, before bringing him back home.

3 navy blue uniform shorts $2 each= $6
2 uniform jumper $2 each= $4
2 plad uniform shorts $2 each= $4
3 yellow shirts and 3 red shirts $2 each $12
1 navy blue GAP sweater $2
New Balance tennis shoes $25

DD is starting Kindergarten. Our shcool has a used uniform exchange everything is $2 each. Since I work there I kept my eye on the supply all year. I am sure it will not always be this inexpensive.

So far I've bought 5 complete outfits, capris and shirts for $106. Now I told dd 10 that she could have 1 outfit from Limited Too, that 1 out fit was $59, I got the other 4 for less than that 1. :sad2:

Youngest daughter is startin a private HS in Sept. that has a dress code. So unfortuately no more starting school in shorts. Luckily, she will have the blazers haning in the closet from oldest daughter. and a few of her skirts.
Oldest took her to the mall last night and picked up 2 shirts on sale, 1 skirt, and 1 pair of pants. I think it cost approx $100
I will take her shopping in 2 weeks when I am on vacation, with the credit card UHG

So far, a whopping 18.99 for a pair of pants that were on sale :teeth:

DD12 hates to shop, so going school shopping is a major chore. She claims everything from last year is still fine, but I know better.

Her cousin that is the same age will be staying with us this week and she does not have the dreaded "I hate shopping" problem that DD has, so I am hoping to go a few times and that DNiece will rub off on DD. Maybe if DD has someone her own age looking at clothes with her she will find something she likes, because when she goes with me everything I look at is just wrong. :rolleyes1

I've kind of been buying a few things throughout the last year.

But in the last month, for the boys, I would guess I have spent about $60. Sam still has a lot of clothes that still fit from last year, as does Josh (he starts Kindergarten this year!). I am going to hit Gymboree if they have a back to school sale because I like some of their long sleeved shirts, but won't be paying full price for them. I also like Lands End shirts for the kids too.

I defintely need to get them each another pair of shoes.

Miss Molly has already gotten about $160 worth of fall clothes- but she had nothing for this size and season. I had fun with my Gymbucks.

So far, 40 bucks for 6 pairs of shorts. We're about to head out and use my shareholder 30% off coupon that was in an Annual Report I got (woohoo!) Pays to be a stockholder sometimes. :)

I do love the Florida living. The school shopping is so much cheaper-I barely spend more for two kids than I did for one kid up north. Something about not having to buy parkas and snow gear!

$112 for two kids

4 pairs of jeans
3 shirts
2 skirts
1 jean jacket

we went through their clothes before going shopping and they normally only get one brand new outfit for school each but they lucked out and JcPenney's had a great sale. Now they are set for awhile...neither needs new shoes...thank goodness!!

About $70 total on new Skechers for each, otherwise what they already have is in good shape. ;)

I havent spent a whole lot.. at least not as much as compared to last year.. I had found a great sale a month or so before school got out on jeans so for DD14 I bought those and she will use those again.. Recently I found some jeans and capri jeans at Kohls on the clearance rack for $10.. so I bought 5 pairs and then bought her some shirts on the clearance rack for $5.. with what she already has she is set.. I did go to Old Navy and bought her several pairs of flip flops for $2.50 each.. and 3 pack of panties on the clearance rack .. now all she needs is a pack of socks and a pair of tennis shoes.. although her other ones are almost new.. so she may be all done.. For DS12 I went to Kohls and again hit the clearance racks and bought him 10 new Nike and Adidas tshirts for less than $5 each.. I found shorts on sale there also.. so he is all set except for 2 white tshirts and a pair of tennis shoes.. Now DD8 I couldnt find much on clearance for her so I went to Walmart and put her 7 pairs of pants, 5 pairs of shorts and 13 shirts on layaway and will go get those next weekend.. she also needs a pair of tennis shoes and thats it..

For DD14 I spent around $80 without the tennis shoes
For DS12 I spent around $70 without the tennis shoes
For DD8 I spent $145 without the tennis shoes

Not too bad since last year for DD14 alone I spent around $400!!

$0 so far because my girls wear uniforms. My younger dd will be able to wear older dd uniforms this year and I found my older dd a few at Goodwill last month. So i'll just need to buy them each a new PE shirt at $7.50 each and 2 blouses for older dd at $12 each. Then i'll be done.

Is it unusual to spend a lot or was I just spoiled?
from 8th grade on my mom would spend about 2500 on clothes for me for the new school year. Back to school shopping was like a major event.
I really miss it, now I dont get as many clothes its not as important to me anymore, dont get me wrong I still love to shop but I'll wear stuff I got a couple years ago, in high school that was like a sin :)

I've spent $12 so far. LOL I saw a cute black corduroy skirt at TCP and picked it up for DD.
We still have over a month before school starts, and it's hot out until October, so all I really NEED is a first day of school outfit for DD(going into 1st grade).
I guess it's a not a need, but I like her to dress up a bit in a dress or skirt the first day, as does she.
DS(PreK) can wear a polo and shorts. He never wears his polos so they all look brand new. :rotfl:

At the beginning. since it is so hot, DD just wears her nice summer clothes that I saved from our Summer Disney trip. When I start to shop I usually spend around $150 for 3 pairs of shoes. She is 7 and is into shoes so that is usually a pair of tennis shoes and two pair of dressier shoes. I then spend an initial $200 on clothes to get through the fall season. I add more as it gets colder. Overall maybe $600 a year on school clothes.

I usually spend about $500 per kid. Mine are teens now and only want clothes from certain stores. I only buy whats on sale and what I consider reasonable.

I went to the local mall yesterday and found a great deal at Aeropostale.

A long sleeve oxford type shirt for $2.99! :thumbsup2

We're finally done and the tally was:
$28 for six shirts at TCP. No shorts to be found, and my kids will roast in long pants-we only seem to wear them from Thanksgiving to mid Feb.

$56 for seven pairs of shorts at Sears.

The boys each want another pair of crocs for school, so another 50 bucks and we'll be done.

well I got 4 polo shirts and a pair of sweatpants for soccer off of EBAY the other day for middle son. They are Hollister/Abercrombie - around $35 with shipping for the lot. He has a ton of hand me downs from his older brother so he is set for short sleeve shirts for awhile.

I was in the mall today and found 2 long sleeve oxford shirts on clearance, around $20 total. He'll need a couple of sweaters or hoodie sweathsirts when the weather turns cooler. He really needs blue jeans. I've been on the lookout but really haven't found a deal yet.

My oldest son, I've spent nothing so far. The only thing he'll tell me he needs is something called an "Invader Zim" t-shirt.

My little one is back to preschool in August. He has outgrown nearly everything and needs a complete new wardrobe including pajammas.

And they ALL need shoes.
