I just bought a mini dvd camcorder and just learned mini dvd's only record for 30 mins. Seems like you would miss half of a parade or show having to stop and change DVD's every 30 mins?? What is a better thing to buy that records for a longer timeframe?

You can buy more expensive ones that record for 60 minutes. I taped Spectromagic, the MK daytime parade, the AK parade, and the parade in MGM. (not all on one dvd of course!) Even 30 minutes is longer that you think :)

30 minutes of any one thing is a HUGE amount of time, once you are viewing it away from the original location. And changing a DVD, if you need more than 30 minutes (I don't think there is anything at WDW that is that long) takes but a moment to do.

I thought of buying one also awhile ago but decided against it when I found out it only recorded for 30 minutes. My son does a lot of plays at church and they are longer than 30 minutes. I was concerned we would lose a lot of the play while changing the DVD's. I guess for anything else it would be okay since most things are shorter than 30 minutes.

The parades and things like Illuminations are a bit shorter than 30 minutes.
I have the Illuminations music on my ipod and the 2 music files that make up Illuminations are just under 14 minutes.
I think Fantasmic is about 20 minutes.

I don't have any problems with them. If you pick a spot where the action is slow you can quickly change the disk, that's what I do anyway
