How much has changed in 25 years?!

I'm guessing a TON! I haven't been to DL since 1987. We've been going to DW since we live 10 hours away. This year we're headed to DL and it's my DP's first trip ever to DL so pretty excited.

Just wondering what attractions have changed and what we shouldn't miss.

I was in the same boat with you last year! Basically, the vague memories you have of DL are still good (and will point you to some of your own 'must-do's'), but basically, you're going to be starting over. Some of the WDW facts and habits you've learned will convey, and some won't.

Well there's this little thing called Disney California Adventure that opened in 2001, along with our Downtown Disney and the Grand Californian Hotel. So that's all new.

As for DL, they added Indiana Jones, Buzz Lightyear, Star Tours 2, Toontown (with Roger Rabbit), Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage, Winnie-the-Pooh, and updated a lot of older attractions (i.e. Swiss Family Robinson Treehouse was changed to Tarzan's Treehouse).

Tomorrowland got a big makeover in 1998, and again another one in 2005 (Space Mountain was completely redone during that second time). All of the entertainment is new since 1987, including Fantasmic, Remember Dreams Come True (fireworks), Soundsational parade, etc.

I agree with looking at the "DLR Guide for WDW vets". Super helpful!

For under $20 another good read is the" Unofficial guide to Disneyland". It is a good resource book if your can't be at your computer. It has great info about the attractions,dining,touring plans etc.
