How much further is the walk from Cabana than Aventura?

We were planning on staying at Aventura, but Cabana Bay prices are now quite a bit cheaper for our dates. I know that Cabana Bay is across the road from Aventura but I have never been to any resorts besides Hard Rock and Royal Pacific so I have no idea what "across the street" really is. I read there is a skybridge which makes me feel better, but can anyone share their opinion on how much less convenient Cabana will be vs Aventura to help us decide what to do? I am also intested in room comparisons to consider. Thanks in advance!!

I mean... it's a four lane, but not a heavily traveled one (IMO).

Ever played Frogger? If you move quickly across the street, it's probably 1-2 minutes lost in staying at CB over Adventura. If you are saving a bit of money to stay at CB, I certainly wouldn't let crossing that street be much of a deterrent. On the other hand, if you're using a scooter or bringing backpacks for kiddos, it would change that, so it depends on your circumstance.

I have walked the path from Sapphire Falls to Cabana Bay (the one they want you to use). I would not feel comfortable doing in the dark or by myself. There is a traffic light where you cross at the street level, no cross walk . They have signs warning not to cross there.

if you are going to/from the parks, just use the bus. It’s short ride and you get dropped at side of Citywalk. Just go up the escalator and then you are at the security screening.

The garden path walk way is on the edge of parking lot on northern part of CB. So depending where your room is could be a hike.

I couldn't find the garden path from Sapphire Falls to Cabana Bay. Gave up and crossed the road where they don't really want you to cross. It is not an ideal crossing. That's what the CB buses are for...

You may want to walk to Sapphire Falls to try out their pool, which is very nice or their sit-down restaurant, which is very good. When I stayed at Aventura, I did not like their pool and walked to the Sapphire Falls pool. On the same side of the street so it is quite easy. The water taxi at Sapphire Falls drops you more in the middle of City Walk and you can do a security scan at the hotel rather than the long lines when you take the buses in the morning.

We've taken the bus and also walked.
The walk was about 20 mins to city walk, the bus took less than 5 mins

CB would probably be the longer walk, and depends also on where your room will be in the resort. We like to have the walking option when choosing a Universal hotel, but so far, we've had very good service most of the time with the busses. Although I don't think we've ever done the bus from Aventura to get to parks, we always walk, or catch the water taxi at SF. But bus to/from CB was great.
As tempting as it would be, I wouldn't cross the road from CB to Aventura. Am sure many have successfully done it, no issues, but as someone driving that road, the crossing is just after a bend in the road, and since no crosswalk, drivers might not at all be considering people walking.
The hotels have 2 different vibes for sure. CB reminds me more of like a value/moderate at Disney, and I found it full of kids/families, etc. which is fine, but a lot noisier. But lots of fun stuff to do there, and DD enjoyed the pools/lazy river. We lucked out too w/ a good room location, but I could see how some might not be ideal. We love Aventura and have stayed several times. Rooms are basic/no frills at all, and not really family oriented, but we've enjoyed our stays, food and pool were fine, and it's so close to SF, can very easily get there.
Both are good options, just different.

You have go around the side use the sidewalk by the road to get to the road behind SF that takes you over the pedestrian bridge to CB.

We stayed there once and just used the bus. It was quick and efficient. Never stayed at Aventura but the room at CB was nice, it had a small living room area with a sofa that pulled out into a bed with a kitchenette that could be partitioned off from the bed area. We had a view of Hogwarts from our room.

Was the suite you stayed in an interior or exterior entry into the room. Did the room with the beds have a door that could be totally closed to seperate the rooms.
Thanks

It’s an easy walk from Sapphire Falls to Cabana Bay. Whatever you choose, do not walk across that street at street level. If you are at Cabana Bay you just need to walk towards the edge of their property, towards where the exterior entry rooms are. There are signs for the walkway or check with the front desk. The walkway will take you over the roadway safely and then you can follow the garden path to walk the whole way or follow the signs to Sapphire Falls and take their boat to CityWalk. We felt perfectly safe doing this on our last visit, but if it was late at night I would probably stick with the bus.

We really lucked out our last Cabana Bay stay - we were in a family suite exterior (red dot) and it was right across from the walking path to the hotels across the street (in this example, the walkway goes to the boat dock at Sap. Falls). Busses are right by the lobby and further south in this picture is the walking path to Volcano Bay and rooms with interior doors. It might depend on what style room you want.
If you'd rather walk to CityWalk, you'd just continue on the path by the "curl" at the top of the picture...that takes you down Hollywood, then you cut back through to the walkway from Royal Pacific.

CB is really on-point with their bus service (over multiple trips, never waited more than 5 - 10 minutes).

Admittedly, even a more daunting experience at night after HHN and a couple of adult beverages.

Yes, I realize it’s stated as not permissible to cross there. However, wish they’d time the lights to enable pedestrian crossing and be done with it.

That is super helpful!! About how long did it take for you to walk from your room to the water taxi?

I walk slow. My husband walks fast. My kids walk depending on their mood and time of day, so great question! LOL I think my walking is 5 mins slower than what everyone else and Google Maps states. If people consistently state something is a 20 minute walk, it takes me 25.

The walk to the water taxi OR to Citywalk has a lot of back and forth. Google Maps says a 10 min walk from Cabana Bay lobby to Sapphire Falls, 20 minutes to Lone Palm at Citywalk. So for me it's 15 and 25.

We are at CB now. The bus is literally maybe 5 min to City Walk. And we have had very minimal (if any) wait time. Easy peasy.
If you would like to walk, there is a pedestrian bridge that will take you across the street, where Aventura is. Literally directly across the street. It is a 4 lane very busy street, so I advise using the bridge if you prefer to walk.
