How much for this ticket upgrade and when can I do it?

I have 7-day tickets with WPM. Plans are changing quickly, including the possible addition of Ultimate Day of Thrills. Two questions: When can I upgrade my tickets to include park hoppers? Now? Or do I have to wait until I get there? Secondly, will I be charged as if I am only adding park hoppers with no other options on my tickets or will I be charged the amount it would have cost if I had added the PH with the initial purchase since adding both is slightly cheaper than adding a single option. Thanks so much!

You can upgrade a ticket at any time. In general, it's best to do so at the park after you've used the ticket for your first entry.

You will receive the price break for adding PH to a WPM ticket (and vice versa).

If you bought your tickets as part of a package or from an authorized third party re-seller, it is best to go to a park first to bring the tickets up to the current value and then add the PH. Since you have WP&M already on your tickets you will be charged $26+tax per ticket to add PH.
