How much should I take along with me just for souviners? We r a family of 4. Mom, Dad, 5yr old boy and 2 yearold boy. I'm thinking that I really wont need that much. We have a Disney store really close to home so my kids already have lots of disney shirts and toys. Do u all buy souviners when at disney? If so what types of things do you buy and for who? As far as getting things for other family members I am going to buy postcards and mail them out. Can I buy stamps for the post cards down there or should I take stamps with me? This is our 1st trip to Disney so I am trying to plan everything out budget wise. Thanks

Personally we don't buy much. You will see different things than what you can buy at the Disney store. For myself I buy a new t-shirt, DH bought a ring last time we were there, one of those silver ones that are carved with a name. DSs take their own money but don't spend much. Honestly, I don't think we spent $100 on souviners but we go to disney allot.

we budget about 300 for souvies. i have myself, dh, 8yo,4yo and 3yo. in that 300 i also include dinner photos, ride photos and anyhting else we want to buy while there.
we always get the boys sweatshirts. my daughter will want some kind of purse, most likely hannah montana. i get a glass every year(im starting a collection, but only get one a year, yeah im screwed if they ever discontinue that line), im sure the boys will find light up things they want, my daughter im sure will find some kind of necklace. all this stuff adds up fast.
every year we go and say we arent buying much. but then youre there in the moment and you child looks at you with those eyes and says" can i please fill a box of mr.potato head peices" and even though you know its a complete waste, how do you sya no?

My kids (5, 4, 2) and I love the toy store at Downtown Disney, Once Upon A Toy. So I try to limit them to $50 each for the olders, I get the 2 year old something (she can't budget yet!)
My son has to have at least one new potatohead. My DD loves the plushes that they only have there. But I do have to tell them at least once, "No, we can get that toy at Target!" for some of the My Little Pony things.
I don't really buy for anyone back home, except DH who usually can't go with us, so I'll usually splurge on a nice sports-style disney shirt for him.
Me, I like the kitchen stuff, and I'll usually buy a few things there.
Sorry for making a short story long, but I usually plan on $200 for the week for our family of 5.

:lmao: I know just what you mean! My Ds has a tote of potatohead parts and pieces, but I KNOW we are going to be stuffing a box in September!

The kids usually have about $50 of their own to spend on whatever they want. (Does not include food unless it is something like the make your own cup with the slushies.)
I also buy them an autograph book, pressed pennies and a t-shirt.

I can't see my sons needing more than $50, and that's a highball amount. Other than a t-shirt and perhaps, something else, they don't need anything.

We didn't think we would buy much. I knew we wanted to do the Mr. Potato Head thing which was $20 and each of the kids would get one item or so-- one got a hat, one a pirate mickey, and one an Irish Minnie (her b-day is St. Patrick's Day)-- each of these were under $20. So we spent $80 total.

But... my DH, who is the most practical person I know-- as in we never buy something we don't need when we go shopping-- decided that the pins were really necessary. We bought a few on our shopping day at DTD and then one night he went out for a walk while I was giving the kids a bath and comes back with a few more. He had to get a few surprise ones to give the kids later for their favorite rides. I'm going to get him a few for Christmas at the Disney store. shh ;)

So, we wound up spending about $200 in souvineers for our 3 "kids".
