We went in December and went crazy with the souvenirs. You are doing the right thing by planning. I bought ears for nieces and paid $12-$15 per set with just basic embroidery. One thing I bought Im glad i did - an autograph book. When you take a picture with a character, they will autograph your book and you can slide the picture in on the opposite page. Very cool. Good luck. I admire your planning!

About $25 for the whole trip. I remember one DD got a jewelry box with a spinning Cinderella inside. At the beach last year, they both got a hooded sweatshirt and picked out a decal to have ironed on it.

the custom shirts ( at DTD) for a small adult was $30. If you get one don't wait at the end of the night to get it, it takes 60 min for them to make it.

charms ( like bracelet charms with lobster claw clasps) are $4.... that is what i get for myself each trip :0)

Lanyards for holding the pins are $8 and up. You can get them with double sets of pins as a starter.

When we go, my kids have their pins for trading. When they trade for a pin, their new pin is a souvie.

We reuse our autograph books until they are filled.

We buy or make t-shirts at home and do not buy them or spend time shopping for a new one at WDW.

We DO buy a Christmas ornament for each child at some point on the trip.

When the kids were younger, we gave them about $25 each for the entire trip to buy what they wanted.

They now think "shopping" at WDW is pretty much a waste of our time and money. Almost every ride at WDW dumps you into a store. Before we went for the first time, I told my kids about this. DD was 4 on our first trip. Winnie the Pooh was one of our first rides of the day. When we came off our ride and were exiting a little boy was so excited about the Pooh story. 4 year old DD said to the boy, "It's trap I tell you. A trap!!!"

That being said, there are stores that we take some time to browse like the store at the end of Star Tours. This was where DS usually choose to spend his money. One year he also brought some of his money from home to spend there. They do have really cool Star Wars stuff. DD on the other hand could care less about shopping at WDW.

Just prepare your kids, plan ahead and you'll be fine.

Oh, we include flashing light stuff sold at the parades and things as part of their souvie money.

Have a fun trip!

It sounds like your kids will have LOTS of souvies before they ever leave! They are so blessed to have a great mom like you!!!

We only let the kids have $50 the first time we went and I don't think they used it all. That was for ears, t-shirts, and whatever else. We didn't let them buy any junk that we could get here at home, but if it was Disney World related then it was theirs to spend. Honestly they had more fun with the pins then anything else. Even now at 13 and 10 they love the pin trading! They only other thing that will help you stay on your budget would be to pay off chargers to your room nightly. We charge everything to our room because it is convenient and easy. But I have to pay it off nightly so that I can keep up with how much I have spent. Just remember to have a good time too! :thumbsup2
