For those Heading for the parks, on a budget, go to a wal-mart, Publix, Ekards etc and purchase a re-sealable water container with drinking spout and jacket. They come in different size from half a litre to a gallon and the cost ranges from $3.00 to $15.00, then buy 6 x 3 litre bottles of your fav soft drink, fill them up with ice and your'll save a fortune.

should you run out though the day most (not all) parks eatery's, will fill your container for the price of a large coke, don't forget to ask for ice.

It's a good idea for saving $$, but who gets to carry it, LOL?

I'll carry it.....

We bought insulated bottles from walmart around $3 to $4 and used them last july at WDW & cedar point & will be using them again this yr.

We just filled them every morning at our resort with ice and water that we had brought. Not only is this for saving money on drinks it also saves alot of time since you don't have to wait in long lines for a cold drink.

Also drinking water all day is better for you in the heat then soda is. ;)

It was NO PROBLEM to carry these bottles, they have shoulder straps & are not heavy. :)

I agree, except for the soda part. We have a couple of sport bottles that we fill each morning with ice and tap water. The bottles have an insulated holder with shoulder strap so carrying them is simple. Throughout the day, we just get a cup of ice at any food stand and top off the bottle at a water fountain or sink. We've had our bottles for several years and they only cost about $10 each. That has saved us plenty over the years.

If you are staying somewhere with a freezer, fill the bottle about 1/4 of the way with water and freeze it over nite, then just fill it with water in the morning.

Carbonated drinks are OK in that type of container? They don't "explode"? I bought one of hte insulated containers at Walmart and it says no carbonated products..I assumed that was why. We carry water in ours...and have them refilled at the outside stands.

Oh...that reminds me of a picnic we did last year. I decided to take coke because we didn't have anything else on hand. 10 minutes to the park, we heard an odd sound...it exploded and what a mess in the back of the van. I think you have to have an air hole of some kind in those bottles.

here's what we do.....we stop at Publix on the way to WDW. They sell the same 20oz. bottles of coke products at regular prices. I buy enough for the week and throw a bottle or two in the stroller when we leave for the parks. When we eat a meal or snack, I ask for a cup of ice. Nice cold coke. All of the counter service restaurants will give you ice and/or ice water free of charge :)

my mom and I each carried an insulated sport bottle - but we made crystal lite in ours.....

we each carried a rubbermaid salt shaker full of crystal lite and when we would order food would get ice water and make crystal lite.
