How much for a 2br @ Windsor Hills?

You will love Windsor Hills. We went last year in February and stayed at www.windsorholiday.com and can totally vouch for that owner.

We're going back this year (couldn't get that exact condo, but found another one). Even though we only really need 2 BR, both times I have booked 3 BR because the cost wasn't really more and the condos had other features that we liked.

My dh was totally anti-disney because he is really frugal and hates feeling ripped off - I finally convinced him that going to Disney did not have to cost thousands. When we were at WH all he could do was rave about what a great value it was and how close we were to the park and how much money we saved by having breakfast and snacks at our condo.

I completely agree with the others - I actually don't like maid service, because they always show up at the most inconvenient times. The place never really needed cleaned because we weren't there that often and with a 2 year old the washer/dryer was an absolute life saver. And I also agree there is no need to make a bed on vacation!

What a GREAT point! We have stayed at Nick 2X and at least twice on each of those trips housekeeping came in (DESPITE the fact we had the 'do not disturb' thing in the electronic key slot) while we were trying to get our kids to nap. Then, on the days they didn't come in at that time, we'd have to call them when we got back from the park at night 'cause they never came back to do the job. Who needs 'em.

So far for Windsor Hills, the best I have narrowed it down to (so far) are:

http://rmfloridacondo.com/ called "Pelican Place" $452.25 for a 3 bedroom from Robert A.

http://www.windsorhillsresortcondos.com/treetops.htm "Tree Tops" for $495.00 for a 2 bedroom from Caroline

http://www.condoatorlando.com/ $483.00 for 3 bedrrom from Louise E.

http://www.fldisney.com/wh.html $475.73 for a 3 bedroom from FLDISNEY.com

Any experience with any of these condos/owners?

Wow, I have gotten SO MANY more wonderful offers. The owners have all been so nice! I got an offer for $375 for a 3 bedroom condo, but I also got an offer for $463 for a TOWNHOUSE! (All rates I have listed all include tax and cleaning fees.) I am actually considering that one over the others because, well it's a townhouse, and it has the private splash pool and it has a Playstation 2 in it w/some games. That is a big selling point for my son, :thumbsup2 since we will be spending more time "at home" versus the parks for this part of our vacation.

Anyone here do a townhouse (versus the condo)? Any differences I should know about?

I am just as excited about this as I am about the 1st part of our vacation (at ASMo). I wouldn't mind staying at WH the whole time, but we really plan on utilizing the EMH for the days we are going to the parks. :yay:

We've stayed at Windsor Palms many times (same builder as WH, but a bit older). We started out in condos, and then discovered the townhomes. We love the townhomes! They're the best! Advantages for us are:
  • parking right out front of our townhome (versus maybe far away if returning at a busy time with the condos)
  • No potential neighbors above us to tromping around.
  • Our own private splash pool (my kids loved this!) And they could play in it while we did things in the townhome - saved a trip to the clubhouse pool.
  • We found that prices weren't that much more than the condos (maybe avg. of $15 more per night), and we felt the advantages were worth it.
  • Extra (3rd) bathroom comes in handy at times - even with just 4 people. I believe all the condos have 2 bathrooms.

Thanks!! I am getting so close to making my decision, and I am excited!!

We are going to WH at about the same time. (Feb17-26) We are staying in a 3 BR condo(Sonoma) 4th floor. We have never been there but it sounds great.

It's hard to be excited though since we booked everything including nonrefundable airfare (for 6 people) way back in April and now this month at my husband's job they have been laying off people, so far my DH is still working but in the spare pool where he dosn't know week to week what will happen. It stinks.:headache: If we cancel we lose out on all that airfare money but is it crazy to still be going on vacation during layoffs?
Oh well I'll just keep praying.
Good luck in your travel plans maybe we'll see you there.

I don't know what to say except  . I know employment instability is difficult. I personally would still go. It would be hard not to think about the money, but you can't replace vacation memories! We probably shouldn't be going either (financially) but I hear about bad things happening every day - accidents (hey, I'm a firefighter), health problems, etc. I want to live my life with as few regrets as possible! :grouphug:
