How much film should I take for a ten day vacation? (7 at WDW and 3 night cruise). I have a Kodak Advantix camera. 27 shots per roll. (Wishin' I had a digital!!!!!!) I want to remember it all so I won't be skimping on pictures!

I have a 2 1/2 year old and a 10 month old and also did not want to skimp on pictures. I should also add that I am a scrapbooker and really picky about my shots, so I will sometimes take several pictures of the same thing- just to be sure to get it right. I returned last month from 8 days and came home with 18 rolls of film to be developed! The bad part is I really didn't put much thought into it and only left here with 5 rolls, so I had to buy film at Disney. I think I paid around $18 for a 4 pack of Kodak 400 speed (you will likely pay more for the Advantix?). So I spent $72.00 on what I could have spent $31.00 on at home. Be smart and buy your film at home. Buy plenty. The worst that will happen is you'll go home with extra film that you will use eventually anyway. I found myself using a roll off film on each parade and at Fantasmic (so for us that was 5 rolls).

If you like to take alot of photos then buy 2 rolls of film for each day and a couple of extra just in case. If you don't use it all you can save it for christmas or some other event. It is really expensive to buy at WDW or on the ship. If you save your receipts you could probably return any unused film. We also have started buying a couple of disposable cameras and keeping one in the backpack we take ashore. We have forgotten our camera in the cabin a few times and had to buy a disposable and it was really expensive. Also the kids like to have use of a disposable.

you can get them at walmart for about 8 bucks, but if you buy them on the ship or in one of the ports, it will run you lots. I made the mistake of not taking some on our first cruise, and i paid 27 bucks on ship for what i could have gotten at walmart for 8.

I would not start that trip without 20 rolls of film. Sam's Club has some specials not on multi packs.
We shot that many last year and also used a digital.
Remember, "You may not pass this way again".

2 rolls per day.....+ a couple of extras. You can always purchse bulk at cosco..sams...walmart and use the unexposed rolls later. The cost per roll at the parks/on ship are VERY expensive.

Good luck

I would also plan at least two rolls per day - but don't forget disposable water cameras. They are a must if you are doing any snorkeling - or even when you are playing in or around the water.
