How much Extra do you spend?

We just got back from the June 12-19 Eastern Magic trip, 2 adults, one eight year old. We are not big drinkers, bought only 4 alcoholic drinks; 2 key chains@ $4.00 each; Christmas ornament for $12, which I thought was reasonable (however, there were others that were more expensive); photos, probably around $80, which was extremely conservative, and planned, on our part-the pictures we tookwith our cameras turned out great;
Banana Boat on CC, about $35; tips to everyone, again, planned, but my husband tipped the cabin steward $25 over the required amount; perhaps a few other things I have forgotten about, but our bill was about $700, again, much of it tips. On all the islands combined, we spent around $100 for items and sea dos, which was $40 of the $100. I think the biggest thing they get you on is the pictures, BUT, to Disney's credit, I was very impressed with the fact that EVERY photographer would always step aside for us to take pictures first, then they would take theirs. This way, I knew we would have good pictures head on, and would not have to worry much about buying theirs. Because of this, we stuck with our budget on the ship. My husband makes well, we could have certaintly afforded to spend more, but we really felt we could manage by doing most of our own pictures, as well as our own excursions, and it paid off, both financially, as well as we had a wonderful trip. If you want to have a reasonable billl when you get off the ship, it is certaintly possible. It is also certainly possible to get carried away by having a card at your every whim. Be forewarned: the pictures in Shutters are cute, and the buying frenzy can be contagious!!!

We spent about $1100 on our 3 night not including tips. I am a picture nut(probably spent a little over $200), Palo, souviners(alot), arcade, maybe 10 drinks. This did not include tips. I never dreamed of spending this much, planned about $600, but I don't regret it at all. My DH, 2 DD's and I had the time of our lives!!!

My family of 4 does not drink that much. But we still ended up spending $2500 on our 7 day in April. It's just so easy to swipe the card. Major culprits: the SPA!, Bingo, and excursions. We also have a tendency to shop a lot. It all adds up rather quickly. If you're concerned, I'd recommend setting a budget per day and checking your bill every night. Our philosophy was "We're on the Disney Magic! The world is ours!" We wait to worry about paying for it until after we get home!

You sound just like us. We just did the 3 night, and when I saw how much we had spent, I about had a heart attack!!! I thought we had spent around $600, but it was almost $1100. We spent about $100 on photos, souveniers were probably several hundred (some of it was scrapbooks for a fellow DISer), $60 on soda cards (asked DH to buy one sticker for 16 year old, he bought 4 and the soda sticker program was discontinued on the very next cruise! :mad: ), two arcade cards that never got used up, spa treatments for my girls (they paid me back for those), both girls went parasailing, and let's just say that I loved the frosty drinks (I've been drinking my Crystal Light out of my Disney Cruise glasses ever since we got off the ship), no tips, no Palo! I thought my husband would have a fit when he saw the bill, but his response was, "Oh well, we had a great time!" We would do it again in a heartbeat!
