How much does your trip to Universal cost?

Around $13500.

Airport Car Parking = $350

Airport Hotel = $200

Flying Virgin Upper return = $5700

Transfer from airport to hotel = $60

Car Hire @ hotel for 17 days = $665

Staying at the HRH King Suite (17 nights) from 15th = $3000

Meals = $3000

Extras (Tickets, gifts, clothes etc) = $500

Total = $13475

At first look it seemed like a HUGE amount. After breaking it down and understanding that yours is an 18 day vacation its all relevent. Thats like 3+ of my trips! I wish I could take an 18 day trip to Universal... I guess I am a bit closer to it than you are though How many people go on this trip with you? Thats a NICE trip! ENJOY

i guess it was all the zeros at the end of the 135 that made me look twice.

i do orlando once a year and stay between 11 to 14 days. i count the last day as i fly out at 8:30 at night.

when i have the kids with me, we start our holiday at disney for 9-10 days, then move over to universal, hrh for 3-5 days. on a few occassions, we have stayed 7 at universal then moved to disney for 7 days.

when i go solo, its just a 9 at disney then 5 at universal. i find i get the cheaper rates at disney using AAA and going the value resort during value season. room for the coming trip is $61 a night.

at universal, they no longer honor the entertainment program ($125 / night) so i cut back my number of nights at hrh. also, no longer do concierge with the loss of ent. card rates.

i am guessing my stay at hrh runs about what it costs at disney for a week (tickets, food, room).
i go during the hhn event and hrh runs $224.xx a night garden view plus tax during regular season in october. that makes it $1000 for the room.
tickets, i go online and get the special thru mc/ $89 last year, 99 this year for 5 day pass
figuring the universal portion of my trip runs 1000/room: 99/day passes/100 for hard ticket, 3 nights: 70 for hhn express pass, 3 nights..then food which can run anywhere from $35 a day and up.

throw in my air fare, i make the two week trip for both parks with a cost of about $2500. if the teens are with me then the price increases due to food.
and extra air fare.

i always try to stay at the low end of resorts at disney in order to spend the extra money at universal and hrh. stayed once at portafino bay hotel and enjoyed it, but the heart belongs to good old rock and roll..........

I havent crunched your #'s yet but how in the world do you get a 2 week vacation for $2500 total?? I need to take some lessons from you! LOL I spend $1000 more and mine is only a 6 day! Maybe that didnt include your Disney passes and transportation, like car rental or town car? You are good!

Thanks. Yep, It does seem like a huge amount, but we went to the HRH last September for 10 nights and had Hurricane Frances bang smack in the middle of the vacation, so we were on lockdown for 2 days and the whole vacation seemed like it was over in a flash. Plus, it's along way to travel for us, (especially with a toddler), so we want to make the most of it while we are there. So, this year we decided we would stay there longer. We (me, my wife and my two year old daughter) love the hotel and the whole Universal resort area. We could quite happily spend the whole time around the pool, but being able to stroll across to the parks and City Walk when we want, is a great added bonus. We have tried whole Disney thing, stayed at their "deluxe" hotels, but we have wised up to that now Thanks

We have 4N/5D at HRH for $1401. Standard room, family of 4. Includes 5 day park passes. We're figuring $15/day for food, and $75 fun money. Total that up....

No air fare and such as this is 2nd half of a WDW vacation (6N/7D) @ Wilderness resort. When I add it all up (both WDW and US/IOA parts) I'm @ ~$8200.
