How much does themeing add to your enjoyment?

I have to agree

Theming is a portion of my enjoyment at a resort. I would say though, that theming for me is probably more like 50% and 50% for the other things such as service, location and comfort.

OK, lemmie get htis straight. Theming is 25%, Service is 50%, location is 50%, and comfort is 50%. That adds up to 175%. Is that why Disney hotels are so expensive?

For the record, I enjoy the theming when its there, but it isn't a dealbreaker for me. I was amazed and blown away by the theming of the AKL. But on the other hand, the Swan and Dolphin are equalling enjoyable because of their location, and they don't have much in the way of a theme at all.

I love the theming-- it is a huge part of my enjoyment of a resort. I love the details.. and the music!

We're offsite this time because we're traveling with family and I'm definitely going to miss living right inside that Disney magic.

Very much so.

I am one of those people who enjoy the resorts as much as the parks.

Agree 100%

While I do enjoy the theme of a resort, comfort & cleanliness come first and if I can afford it I would rather pay for luxury before themeing. Who cares what the lobby looks like if the rooms need rehab? What good is a pool slide if your bed is uncomfortable? I like Disney resorts for their convenience as much as themeing, that's why I tried a DTD resort but haven't stayed off site. I like being able to park my car and leave it for a week.

Now when it comes to the parks it's a different story, the themeing must be there! I dislike large parks like Six Flags, I find them distasteful and so I go to a smaller local amusement park or save for WDW or Busch Gardens Williamsburg.

Count me in as a theme-lover. I agree with the above post about the attention to detial and the music. when i head back to my room through the resorts, its as if the park/magic feeling has stayed with me. I wouldnt stay anywhere but onsite when at WDW.

Hi, my name is Christy and I am a Disney Resort-a-holic

I've said it before, theme and atmosphere make for a vacation within a vacation. I'm as excited about the Poly, as I am the parks and attractions.

Theming, according to DD, is "The most important thing!" Yep, she sitting here, reading over my shoulder instead of getting ready for school!

I used to think theming was not important to me. We stayed at POFQ in 2002 and Pop this past March. I enjoyed both resorts and thought for the price I would just stay at Pop in the future. I didn't think it mattered that much as we didn't spend that much time at the hotel anyway. Then I got to thinking about our last trip and remembered times when we spent several hours in the afternoon at the hotel and it was pretty boring for me. DS played in the arcade. Now I am thinking I might go for a little more theming and am looking at CSR or CBR. I love the look of both of them and can really picture me sitting by the water reading while DS plays in the pool or the arcade to his hearts content.
