HOw much does Early entry really affect crowds

We are leaving Saturday and my plan has hit a snag. I read the updated UG crowd level on their website, and with the early entry days, they recommend avoiding the MK on Friday, due to early entry. We are not staying onsite so we don't have the option. How much will that affect the crowd? Should I change to another park that day? We are "be there when it opens" kind of people to avoid serious lines.
Thanks for the input

In your situation I would definitely recommend avoiding Friday. My experience is that EMH causes the crowds to be much higher than non-EMH days.

Also, you'll find some of the rides (e.g., Dumbo, Indy Speedway) will already have fairly long lines when the park opens to "regular" guests at 9am.

In my experience, Early entry is nice if you park hop. Go to the early entry until late morning then park hop to another park as the crowds grow.

If you're staying onsite, this might make sense, but in this case the OP doesn't have access to Early Entry. So in this case, I don't think it makes sense to go at all on EE day.
