How much does a WDW trip cost you, per person?

For price breakdowns, I previously mentioned allears, which might have them too, but I meant mousesavers; that's where I found what I needed.

This trip, it is me and my two oldest boys 8 and 7. We are going on the 4/3 deal staying at ASmu with regular 7 day tickets no park hoppers or anything. We also purchased the deluxe dining plan and received the $200 GC. Our total was $1909, and we will use the card for tips on food. I budgeted in an additional $200 for souvies and extras such as a tour we plan on taking. We will also be paying the additional $10 or so per ticket to upgrade to FL resident seasonal passes.

In contrast, we hope to go during free dining this fall, and our trip will only cost $749 at a value resort for three children one adult for 5 nights, because we will only need a one day ticket in our package.

For us--5 people, 4/3 deal, Dining Plan, and Water Park Option:

around $2950. Add in around $1500 pocket money for tips and other essentials (and nonessentials), that brings the total to $4450. We are staying at POR.

That's $890 per person.

For us, it's all over the board and it also depends on who we take with us and whether or not we stay on our DVC points, use mileage points for airfare, etc. Also, DH and I have AP's so there are many trips where we are not buying park tickets.

Least expensive trip, staying DVC and having A/P's, we probably spent $3000 for the two of us for a week, including airfare for the 2 of us.

Most expensive trip, staying GF RPC on Platinum Plan, we probably spent $15,000, including airfare for the 2 of us.

We go every three years. These answers are based on our plans for our next trip.

Total cost: $4,051.58 + $4,646.62 = $8698.20 total for both rooms

If you do answer, how many days was it? 4 nights, 5 days
What sort of ticket?5 days park hoppers
Were you on the dining plan? This price is based on the basic plan, although we're considering upgrading to the deluxe plan.
Did you share the cost of the room with anyone?
We have our family of four and then both grandmothers. The grandmothers pay for their share.

What type of resort (value, moderate or deluxe)?deluxe - Poly
Anything else? We have 2 concierge rooms reserved.

This isn't included souvenirs or transportation costs. We drive and we'll spend one night in a hotel on the way there.

Other people have said it, the price will widely vary.

We went as a family of 5 in August and spent something like 2500 for 5 nights at POR which included dining. We spent an additional 500 dollars, so 3000. That price also included 5 hopper passes.

Then airfare was another 1000.

I am leaving next week, just DH and I for 4 nights, including the CS dining plan, it came to 1396. We are staying at POP. We paid another 450 for airfare.

We never have discounts either, I am never lucky enough to get codes and I never qualify for WDW specials because of when we go, or how many days we have to go.

About $1000 per person for us including airfare, moderate resort, disney tickets, dining plan, car rental, trip insurance and tax. We also got the 4/3 deal. (3 adults and one child)

My DBF and I are coming down from Mass and here is the breakdown:

This is all per person

Plane: $209 for round trip from Logan to Orlando

Hotel (POFQ) 4/3 deal with Park hoppers: $726 (each for a total of $1452)

Spending money: I can't speak for my DBF but I am bringing about $500 with me, along with the $200 gift card we get once we're down there and the $50 in gift cards I got from his family for XMas. Oh, and it's my birthday so I'll be getting the $75 fun card for that, too. That makes a total of $725 for me, we're splitting the gift card down the middle. I won't spend nearly that much, but I want to have it just in case.

Total: $1660 for me

Wow, that's about 151 hours of work. Totally worth it.

Really depends on when you go,which level hotel & dining you want, & what kind of a discount you can get.

In May, taking DD & her BFF we have 2 rooms standard at Pop, with regular DDP, upgraded the tickets to 7 day hopper tickets, rooms on the 4/3 deal so it will be $1788.86 per reservation so that works out to $127 per person per day for room, food, park tickets. Probably another $100 person for misc. spending (alcohol, souvenirs, etc.)

In Sept, taking DS & his BFF, we have 2 rooms standard at Pop, Free Dining, 7 day hopper tickets...since I didn't book 2 rooms on the bounceback (added the extra people later) to get son & BFF included on Free Dining we had to add their names to our room, so we have to pay the surcharge for 2 extra adults in our room, and then we added a room-only reservation for them so we don't have 4 adults crammed into those small Pop rooms (the room-only reservation has a AAA room discount.) But even with the over-charges on our room, it's still going to be a lot cheaper than the May trip...$2543 total, or just over $90 per person per day for room, food, park tickets. Same as before, probably another $100 person for misc. spending.

I've been attempting to calculate how much a hypothetical trip to WDW would cost, to see if I could possibly afford a trip in the next year or two. So I was wondering what the average was for other DISers. If you do not mind posting that information, that is.

If you do answer, how many days was it?
What sort of ticket?
Were you on the dining plan?
Did you share the cost of the room with anyone?
What type of resort (value, moderate or deluxe)?
Anything else?

Thank you all in advance for any info, it would be very helpful!

It really, REALLY depends on the trip. I'll give you our two extremes, for a little perspective on just how much.

Trip #1. 5 people (3A, 2K), 2 rooms, 5 nights at Port Orleans Riverside (moderate). Free dining, back when the dining plan still included tips. 4 day ticket, no park hopper, with water parks for 2 adult and 2 children. 1 day base ticket for 1 adult, because she had a ticket leftover from a previous trip. That trip cost us about $2800, including a great deal I found on airfare.

Trip #4 (with each trip getting more expensive, it seems! :rotfl2: ) - 11 nights, 4 people (2A, 2K), Wilderness Lodge. 10 day tickets with free hopper & water parks upgrades from a code. Deluxe dining. Steam Trains tour. Bibbity Bobbidy Boutique. Lego store shopping spree and custom cake for DS's birthday. That trip cost us about $8000.

My point? You can do Disney on pretty mcuh any budget. As our budget has expanded, so have our trips - they've gotten longer and more luxurious - but even the cheapest trips we've taken were wonderful!

Our latest trip, broken down:

-10 nights at offsite hotel- rate from Hotwire, including resort fee: $425
- 10 day non hopping tickets, from Undercover Tourist (1 adult, 1 child):$447
-meals for 2, 1 adult, 1 child- 5 TS, rest CS: $400
-souvenirs: $50
-parking at WDW 8 days, round trip gas from NC: $160

TOTAL: $1482

Per person, per day cost: $74.10

This was our budget planning from our 2008 trip. We pretty much stuck to it. Our trip cost about $300 more than budgeted due to gift shops shopping (we love Disney merchandise). Note that the actual cost of the trip actually includes the yardsale money, rewards card points and stroller swap money. I had shown these items as a credit on the budget to determine how much cash from my pay to plan for. So the trip was more like $7k instead of the $6240 total shown.

Here's the breakdown for my May trip - we're doing it pretty cheap. 2 adults, 5 nights in Pop, going to add-on 2 or 3 offsite nights.

We got a PIN from Disney - $594 per person (includes 5 nights at value resort and 6 day base ticket), BUT it includes a $500 gift card at check in :cool1: .
- So, $594 x 2 = $1188
- Upgrade to park hopper ($50 each) = $100
- Driving down (about $40 each way in gas) = $80
- 3 off-site nights (about $60 each) = $180

So, total = $1548.

Since we have that $500 GC to use during our stay, I'm planning on spending almost none on other expenses. We don't buy souvenirs really, we eat breakfast in our room and pack peanut-butter sandwiches and fruit for snacks. We will use the gift card to eat a counter service meal in the parks every day (maybe 2), but we're light eaters and sometimes will just split one counter-service meal, or one will get a kid's meal. We are making ADRs for a few nice restaurants to cover the rest of the $500. :)

Hi Nomi,

We just returned (yesterday) from a 2 week trip, and we actually fly out of Edmonton also.

We stayed offsite in a house (Windsor Hills) and there were ten of us total.
We used airmiles for park passes - basic My Way
We purchased groceries for breakfast and lunch (packed it in to the parks) and either ate out for evening meal or cooked in (only about 3 times did we cook in)

Our total - for everything (gas for rental, rental car, flights ($1800), food, souveniers, mickey ears, 2 character meals, parking at parks, at Ed airport, med times dinner, house, etc was about $5800 for my family of 5 (kids 3, 4 and 6). Again, we didn't pay for passes for WDW SW or US as we got them with airmiles.

So if you break it down it was for us about $1165 per person, which would increase to about $1450 per person if we had paid out of pocket for tickets.

HTH, feel free to PM me if you have more specific questions.

Vickie

When I go I usually try to book vacation packages from online sites and seem to save a bit. I know I give up some control by doing this but so far I haven't had any complaints so far. It also takes much less time on my part to plan everything out and keep it all organized. (I'm really bad at that)

Our recent trip with the Nephews was $3000 for 8 nights at POP with Deluxe dinning. We ar FL residents at bought tickets at $220 for each person. They were seasonal tickets. During our Stay we bought into DVC at 100 point for 10 years at AKL next month it will cost $140 per month.
