Last time I went it was around $7 and it lasted about 1 month. Our son absolutely has to have a balloon whenever we go. I would figure in $10 just to be safe. HOpefully that helps!
We've paid $10 for a less fancy balloon (like the mickey balloon in the large plastic balloon) and (don't quote me on this one) I think that the princess ones were $12. We bought them at the beginning of our 10 day trip and gave them to an arriving family when we were leaving because they were still in perfect shape!
Don't remember how much it cost, but we bought a foil balloon last trip , let the air out of it before weleft , when we got home I took it to a place where they sell hellium balloons and got it blown up again!

That was such a cool idea! That way you can keep it.
I thought it was interesting to note that the AKL doesn't allow balloons on property, straws either. I assume it is a safefy thing for the animals, if they were to ingest one it is deadly.
I know Disney is expensive, and I'm willing to pay waaaaaay more for things in WDW than I would outside of the World... but $10 for a balloon!?! I'm glad I don't have kids yet!

Prices at any tourist attraction can be shocking.
I was surprised to hear that if you pop the balloon, take the broken pcs to the seller, and they will replace it! I've never tried this, but heard about that here.
Last December we got both our kids those double layered ones on the way out of the park. My daughters hit the rough roof under the train station as you leave and popped. We walked back up Main Street to the balloon guy (my daughter in tears) and he gladly gave her a new one without a word. (They were $10/ea).
We were there last December and they were $10. We had 3, one for each child. One lasted about 3 weeks, another about 5 weeks, and wouldn't you know, the other popped at 2 1/2 months (still floating and full!). We drive and have a roof top luggage carrier; I just tie the balloon down with clothes pins and put it in the cargo area. I found it worth the $10.
Here in NYC (not a cheap place to live!) you can get Mylar balloons for about $2 at the dollar store - not sure what they would be at a specialty store.

Yeah, I know what you're saying..I'd be a mean mommy, because there would be no way I'd pay $10 for a balloon..I mean, a t-shirt the child will get use out of it..even a stuffed animal makes more sense.
But $10 for a balloon..nah, don't think so. Although, the idea that someone had to let the air out of the mylar ones and have it inflated again, that's clever.
I just asked the receptionist at the Jambo House, and a Member of Management about this the other day, and they both said that they allow balloons in the rooms..... I asked b/c I didn't want to get them for the kids and then be told I had to pop them LOL
