How much do you tip Mousekeeping?

I recommend tipping Mousekeeping heavily - since I'm the mousekeeper for our RV.;)

When I stay in the resort hotels I tip daily as the mousekeepers can change daily. Otherwise, the one person that it working on the last day gets the benefit of the entire week even if this was her first day on. Did that make sense?

We usually tip about $3 per person, per day. And, we leave it every morning too, in case the mousekeeper changes.

Well I guess it would depend on your budget, but whenever I stayed at CBR we tipped 1.00 $ per person, total of 4.00 a day, everday. And most people on the resort board do as well. But if you want to spend more that's up to you, it can really adds up if you stay for a week or more. I tip the bus drivers too because my dd is in a wheelchair so for me tipping can add up quick. Have fun with it, we did, it made me feel good to tip the bus drivers that didn't want to take it ( but really did, you know ), I had it already planned and it made me feel good to see them get a huge smile :rolleyes1 .

Thanks everyone...thats about what I was figuring. There are 3 of us - so I was thinking around 5 dollars a day.

I tip $3 to $5 per day, usually everyday in the a.m. unless I dont have mousekeeping come in (sometimes we come back to nap and they havent been there yet) I also leave a little note that says "for Mousekeeping" with a smiley or something, and they really appreciate it! I have gotten little notes back! It makes me feel good to leave a little something just to brighten someones day, since I am there having such a great time!

true, because when i stayed in my parents unit, i didn't tip the maid there either. For the money they got to maintain the place yearly, let them pay the people better.

because I don't give anything......

You know Gatordad I have never in my life tipped for hotel service until I started reading on the disboards, it never even crossed my mind. It wasn't until I started reading about other people doing it before a light bulb went off  Now I just sort of plan it into my vacation money , I guess with camping you never really have to worry about tipping maid service, unless you want to tip yourself :thumbsup2

I still don't do it, even when I stay in hotel unless I ask for something crazy or out of the ordinary. I figure it's built into the price of the room.....

I think a fair share of people don't even know about tipping housekeeping/mousekeeping. Most people, as Gatordad did, figure it's built into the price of the room.

To be honest, sometimes I forget to tip myself. I guess it's the one's that go out of their way to make your trip special that I notice more :/
