not including food, how much do you spend on soviners? i.e. per day, or per trip? how much do you budget yourself for for a trip?

its per trip for us - usually my DD's budget is around 40 euros, no matter how long we go for (3, 4 or 5 days).

I might spend 10 euros or so on souvenirs, but only if I see something that jumps out at me, its really just a token for me. All my Disney merchandise I buy here in the UK.

DH and I usually buy a mug each and if they have any nice christmas decorations we choose a few as a family and then I will buy the children a pin each to add to their collection. Then we only tend to buy things if they really jump out at us (apart from last year when I lost my hat and had to buy a new one because it was so hot). In total we would certainly spend no more than E75. On top of this the children tend to save up birthday/christmas money to spend and this year they will each have about E50 to choose their own things.

100 euro per day. We only take handluggage to France but have two big suitcases home. But this time we need to save money, so only have around 30 euro per day

Mine always varies as I take cash & tend to use my credit card the most. Last time I went I spent approx €150 but that got most of my niece & nephew's christmas presents. The time before I spent a little less.

I think it varies greatly, in 2009 we probably spent less that 150euro on souvenirs, but last year we managed to spend over 350euro!! :scared1:

This was mainly because we bought lots of Christmas decs and bought lots of toys/t shirts etc for our boys, when we go back next year our boys will be given an amount they can spend, we came back with so many bits of 'tat' that broke pretty much as soon as we're home, we won't be doing it again! :rotfl2:

I took £400 in total for myself and my daughters, aged 6 and 4, for a 4 day trip. I'd said that on the last day, just before catching the Eurostar, we'd spend whatever I had left on my Fair FX card on souveniers. I think we spent about 100 euro between us in the end. I got a photo album and the girls bought 3 decent things each. Oh, and I caved and bought them Minnie Mouse ears on day 2 :)

Wow... I wish we'd had the level of restaint shown above! I'm assuming it doesn't include food!

I personally felt that 200 euros per day for the 3 of us with plenty of character meals and a decent amount of toys etc was more than enough, and that you could certainly do a 6 day trip for under 1000 euro spend.

Too little though and I think you could easily find yourself sacrificing too much, and if you've spent a lot to get there, that would seem a shame...

For our 4 day trip in November Ive budgeted:

€450 for meals (includes lunches, Cafe Mickey, Auberge, Annettes and buffets)
€100 for presents (including something for my newborn nieces, 12 magnets and sweets for nieces and nephews)
€20 for autograph book for DS and DD.
€100 spending split between DS and DD.

We will have approx €400 extra in the budget but will try not to go overboard.
We may bring DD to get her make up done in the DLH before Aubege for her birthday lunch too and I think we'll probably buy the photo pack for €35 aswel.

But this is more of a blow out trip then previous more budget conscious trips. Bought loads on last trip (4 days) and we ate like queens plus did some shopping the day before we left for DLP and only spent €500 in total I think.

June '09 (6 days) - We spent about £950 gbp in total. I would guesstimate £500 on food, £450 on other stuff - toys, ice-creams, popcorn, photos etc.

June '10 (6 days) - We spent about £1100 gbp, again I would say £500 on food, the rest on extras - although we let our two get a toy each every day on this trip.

We are going in July this year and I am going to take about £1000, we are going to buy them 2/3 toys each while we are there. Last time they were choosing stuff for the sake of it because they knew they could have it. With any luck I will get a bit of change this time!
