Iusually spend over 100 dollars. Of course I buy a polo shirt and a T-shirt or two polos depending on styles/colors plus something snow white related.

The items above are an easy drop of a 100 bill:lmao:

How much I spend on souvenirs varies with each trip. It depends upon my budget, as well as reasoning. As a result, I have spent anywhere from less than $25 to over $200. Which may sound like a lot in the latter case, however seeing how there are many people that spend that amount per day, or more, it was a conservative figure.
I love to add to my pin collection, I concentrate on POTC, but also am working on adding to my HM as well. I have not begun to collect Tink yet, because I don't think I will ever become caught up with her. ;) Seriously. I also like to purchase jewelry and tiaras.

In our one family trip, we spent varying amounts. I spent the most, mainly because I bought a D&B purse. I gave the kids (3 and 15) $100 to spend, and we went over that because I bought souvenir shirts/hoodies. My husband spent the least there, less than $50, but spent a ton at the outlet mall.

What I spend on souvies really depends. If there are sales (once I got sweatpants and matching shirt for $10), then I spend more. If there's not, then I might just buy one item (like my set of XMas ornaments for $6). I stopped buying mugs altogether (have more than enough) and I wear Disney shirts all the time. Lately, I'm on an organic cotton shirt kick, and they have cute ones at AK. The kids depend, too, but I limit how much they get to one bigger souvie and maybe 1 or 2 really small ones.

I budget $100 per person for souvenirs.

My husband collects glassware which can get very pricey at times. I give my kids $100 each to spend on whatever they want. Once they spend that, whatever else they want has to come out of their own money. Normally, neither one of them spend anywhere close to that amount since they are as tight fisted as their dear old parents once it's them having to let go of the cash.

Unfortunately, I am the one with the Disneyaholic problem. I love Disney kitchenware. We are going to buy an old camper to redo and I want it all in Disney stuff. I am ashamed to admit that I usually blow my budget....but I neatly justify that by creating a separate "camper" budget once I hit the stores. There's stuff for me and then there's stuff for the camper, lol.

How much a person spends on souvenirs really depends on how much they have budgeted for the trip, disposable income and overall cost of the trip/

Family A rents a condo for the week at $700 and then spends $1000 on souvenirs and has a great time. They drove to WDW.

Family B must stay deluxe to have a great vacation. They pay $300/night (with tax) for their room and then limit the spending to $25 per person and their are four od them. They spend $2200 and have a great time. Family B flew and left their car in long term parking.

Family A spend more on souvenirs but less on the vacation.

Both families has souvenirs they will cherish in the future and great memories.

We don't have a set amount. Dh and I always get a coffee mug and the kids I let pick one very small treat, say $5 or less and 1 large item. It doesn't matter the price but they can only get those 2 things and that's it.

As far as tshirts, I only get them at the disney store our outlet, not in the parks.

Yes, I totally agree. I think it's very interesting to see the distribution in the poll...people are all over the place on this one. :goodvibes

I said $25. But it really depends on how long we stay somewhere and who the souvenirs are for.

I would probably have more set aside for my 16 yr old DD than my 2 yr old DS. I would also set aside more money if we stayed 7 day as opposed to 3 days. More days to shop. :)

We like to window shop the whole week and then the last day of our trip we'll take a bus to Downtown Disney and everyone picks out something they've been eyeing all week. We try to stick to 50.00 per child and then we just buy things for ourselves that we can use (ornaments, pins, kitchen stuff, bracelet charm for me...etc). My oldest ones save money throughout the year to spend on themselves too....so their purchases can be 200+ depending on how much they saved.

the kids spend about $25 of allowance money they've saved, last time they bought some pins. We're not big on buying stuff in the parks, but then again we're past the toy stage so it's easier. This time, I'm hoping the pins I got them on ebay for trading wil be enough.

Every trip I try to find something to use as an Xmas ornament, oftentimes it's something that wasn't intended to be an ornament, I just use i that way.

DS brings his own money and buys what he wants. I don't spend very much on myself. DH on the other hand loves to shop anyways, so he'll go until the end of the trip and then by himself one super priced souvie. Last year he bought his mickey watch that has different faces and different types of bands. I think there are a total of 9 different styles in one watch, needless to say it was the only thing he bought for himself, one big gift :thumbsup2

I answered the poll $75-$100, but it does vary depending on the trip. We usually get at least one Xmas ornament, a few pins, and a shirt or two every trip. Sometimes we splurge and get something like a Disney hoodie or jacket that is a little more pricey. DS always wants a few toys and we let him get those. Last time we totally went over board at the Lego store! Hopefully we'll stay away from there this trip! (we all love legos!)

Our budget is around $100 per day. Since it is so hard to budget for souvenirs, I buy gift cards before we leave so the budget is set. Each child gets a $25 GC to use each day we are there. This has eliminated the "Mom, can I have..." "Dad, I want..." They know how much they can spend and when their gift card is used up they are finished for the day or they can save the daily amount for something really big. It works as a great budgeting teaching tool.

We don't spend as much on souvies anymore due to how many trips we've made. With that said, DD10 has $100 saved up on a GC to spend on stuff she wants at the parks. She knows once that's spent, it's gone. It usually goes for those princess dolls, jewelry, and other little doodads.

Now for me, I've started spending money on character artwork from the Art of Disney, incense and chopsticks from Mitsukoshi and perfume from the France pavillion. So it's about $200 for myself.

Well, I answered $100+ per person, but we don't go very often (10 years between visits) and that number also includes my photopass CD and my photo book which I consider to be souvenirs. The cost for those two items alone was $200. I also have silhouettes done each time we visit and those are $50.

The kids had their own money - $150 each, and they spent almost all of it - BUT they also used this money to buy things like soda, snacks, etc.

I'm reading this thread thinking I should go into counseling for my spending habits.

I spend a lot, but I save up, and take Disney gift cards and debit. My trips are paid off before I go(including dining), so I have no guilt on that end. I'd say I spend about $800 to $1000 but I don't buy junk. I buy collectibles, watches, jewelry etc. I also buy gifts for other people.
