I'm just wondering how much people spend on souvenirs for themselves during a trip. Last year, I think I spent around $70 on myself...I got a t-shirt, a scrapbook set, and some princess cups. This year, though, I'm thinking about limiting it to one special gift. Not sure if I'll really be able to do that, though! :rotfl: It's hard to pass up on all the Disney stuff!!! Any thoughts?

we end up spending about $100 per person. I know it's alot but I just love getting a t-shirt, a key chain, lip gloss, jewlery, mickey ears... mugs and it just adds up a lot

My girls each bought a couple of pins so it cost about $17 per child.

I'm not a big souvenirs person in general. I have to really love something to get it. DH is not a big shopper and between him and the kids, we don't go into too many stores at Disney or stay in them for long anyhow.

For the kids (2 and 3), I bring lots of quarters and pennies and let them go to town on the pressed penny machines. They love doing it, treasure their pennies and it only costs 51 cents a pop! Until the novelty of this wears off, it sure is working for us. ;)

I spent about $150 on our last trip, but that included 3 personalized ornaments for Christmas gifts.

The trip prior, I spent about $75. I got a scrap book album and a few pins. This is in addition to the $$$ I spend on my daughter and grandchildren.:rolleyes1

Since we go yearly and our kids are older, we really don't budget for souveniers anymore. If something special catches our eye, we will buy it. But we don't budget for them anymore.

I usually go for a special occasion on our trip. First was honeymoon- so I had to get a Mickey and Minnie bride/groom thing! And next was son's first b-day- so I got scrapbooking stuff. But I still max out at $50 or so for just me. Kids, they go about $50 each. Mr. Potato Head pieces and pins usually!:goodvibes

It really depends on the trip.

1st trip in many years we spent about $100 each.

Since then we have a mental limit of $50 each but if there is something someone loves we'll go over that. Last year my kids each had $50 from their Grandma and neither spent all of it.

With kids I find giving them the money and telling them they can keep what they do not spend, and can ask if they run out (with the understanding that we will not always say yes) seems to really help.

We spend less than $50 each on souvenirs. Mainly a new T shirt and some new pins. Although now my DD likes to trade old pins from previous trips, so that saves some $.pirate:

I haven't really thought about this before. We haven't been to WDW since 2003. We leave in 100 days! We are pretty easy and let the kids get what they want. They are a lot older now and I don't think ds will want as much as dd. I want an ornament, scrapbook stuff and a few other odds and ends. I hit the Disney Store last weekend and bought everyone new Disney shirts and clothes.

I try to get a few mugs and I'm satisfied. DS looks for books and 'cool' shirts but otherwise he's not interested.

My husband buys A Disney Goebel in Epcot Germany each trip and they are $300.00 - 750.00 but for the kids about $50.00-$100.00 which includes Mickey Mouse Ears each trip and as for myself about $15.00, I buy the Mickey Mouse Holding the banner with the current year on it. Sometimes the kids have a little more from Allowance and birthday money. It should be said the kids always buy gifts for the family members who could not go, Sunday School Teacher, etc.

I didn't vote because we don't spend equal amounts. DH and I usually spend under $50. Last trip we each bought ourselves a $15 shirt. DD is another story. She got 2 charms for her bracelet, 1 small plush, 2 medium plushes, a Pooh onesie, an adorable pink plaid outfit, and a princess plate, bowl and utensil set. With tax, DD probably got $125 worth of stuff. Honestly, DH and I would like to spend more on her. We like to spoil her. We're saving a little more than usual for our next trip so that we can go crazy. Or maybe so DH and I can buy a few things :rolleyes1

I probably spend the most. But its because I buy my perfume from Guerlain.

we only get souvies on one day, plus we drive in to the outlets and let them pick what they want after a week of oogling over all those toys. usually 25 or so a peice.

We spend more than $100 per person. If we like it and will use it we get it. DH and I love to look at the stuff offered. I get scrapbook stuff that I use for that trip.

In the past, we've given the kids $15 in Disney money or gift card to use on our DTD day. Spent another $10 each at the little carts. I buy gifts for the kids throughout the year leading up to the trip and then give them a gift every day......I spent about $75.

For this trip, I plan on spending more, simply because I've been planning for it for 2 years. I have a bunch of $15 gift cards that I buy any time I'm in Walgreens. We'll use them for souvenirs.

A few years ago, Disney.com had their jewelry/music boxes on clearance. I ordered some TinkerBell and Ariel boxes. I gave some away as gifts but I still have 2 Tinkerbell boxes left. Since I've run out of people to gift them to, I'm going to sell them on Ebay and use that money to pay for DD10's Pick-a-Peal and setting. :yay:

DH and I don't spend a lot on ourselves. As a family, we pick out a nice christmas ornament to remember our trip by.

It's interesting to here all the thoughts on souvenirs. I agree with the statement above "If we like it and will use it we get it." I guess that's my problem...I get to Disney and think I'd love to have all this stuff but end up not using it at home. I love to scrapbook actually, but lacked the time or motivation to use the stuff I got in Disney last year. As far as the tshirt, I just don't really wear disney clothes outside of Disney. The only thing I really use is the princess cups. They're cute little cups for water/juice and my mom, sis and I love using them...it's a little bit of Disney to use during the day! My sis got a mug and that's fun to use for the same reason. So, for me, I'm going to try to get some stuff like that...stuff I can use daily to brighten up the rest of the year when I'm not at Disney!

Of course, for people with kids, souvenirs are a whole other story and pretty hard to limit....:rotfl:

We're just two grownups but we do spend over $100 each on each trip to WDW.

I tend to buy jewelry and Husband usually buys a watch or clothes.

I really don't need any MORE Disney stuff, though. I have way too much as it is.

Haven't been to Disney World yet, but at Disneyland we spend about $25 per person. We went for my birthday last year and I got a coffee mug, and we got a plushie for DS and a hat.
