How Much Do You Spend on Your Significant Other for Christmas?

DH and I do not exchange gifts. There's nothing we really need or want.

I may purchase an item for the house we both can use, even there there's very little we need (I would like a plasma TV) though. ( a roof on my deck would be nice) (or a new 6 burner stove with 2 ovens) Maybe I'll leave this thread up so he can see it.

We took a 14 day trip to Italy in September and we are taking the Grandchildren to Disney in February. I guess you could call these our gifts to each other for the next couple of years.

Ha! There you go! There is a silver lining to being single during the holidays. I have gotten so stressed in the past over buying presents for SO's. My dogs do pretty well, too. ;)

DD and I just went Christmas shopping at Petsmart yesterday for our two dogs, cat, and two birds! They were the only ones I hadn't gotten gifts for yet this year. The cat is oblivious to anything but the dogs know to look for their stocking on Christmas morning. Nothing better to them then a new squeaky toy! I also spent over $100 on just toys, snacks, and bones for them.

We don't usually exchange gifts....just something little the kids pick out for each of us.

This year is a bit different, though. DH bought a big screen TV last month (from me;) ) and I bought us a new bedroom set (from him;) ). I'd much rather put money into things we'll all enjoy and will last rather than little things.

Both purchases were going to happen. Just easier saying they are gifts.:D

we just never did the present thing.....for xmas or birthdays .....we usually do something special during the year......this past year we got a new truck......we did surround sound for the living room....and we got ourselves ressies to go to Disney......we do this and to us it is the best present of all....just a for no reason present is the best .......You know someone that is very recognizable........Past President Bush and his lovely wife Barbara.......they do cards and things like that for each other........but not gifts.......

:D

I tried to budget my spending on my girlfriend, but I couldn't help it. I planned on spending $300, but I am closer to $400. I have no idea what she spent on me and it doesn't even matter. This is our first Christmas together, so it's really special to us even without the presents.
