It's just me and my fiancee', no kids. We'll usually spend about $400-$500 on each other. That includes stocking stuffers. Since we're going to WDW for Christmas this year, we've limited ourselves to $60 each.

How much do you spend on your husband, wife, SO for Christmas?

Not very much. We usually spend most of the Christmas money on DD. Although last year DH did surprise me with a diamond ring.

TOO MUCH! I just don't see the importance in all these gifts...I mean, I want to get him stuff, but I don't want to feel forced to spend all this money-I feel like I have to keep looking for more stuff just to spend enough...It's not the money, it's just I'd rather just pick out the stuff I want to get him and not worry about the money.

Not that much either.. we usually limit ourselves to $100 or less.

But being the bargain hunter I am, I have less than $100 (about 70 right now) and everything has been on sale..

I just dropped $160 on a Steelers golf bag for the DBF... for a poor college kid like me that's a big chunk of change. Then I think to myself, hey, the kid's taking me to WDW, it's the least I could do! :) Though I see us limiting costs in the future b/c my birthday is 12/11, then Christmas, his birthday is 1/12, and there's Valentine's Day. Tough!!

I'm spending about 30 on DBF(DVD,Panama Jack necklace and GC for dinner)

I don't think I've ever spent more than $40 on a surprise Christmas present for dh and we've been married for 13 years! Before we had kids we always decided to do stockings only and then go for a weekend getaway. Now we concentrate on the kids and then usually consider a big purchase for the household to be our Christmas present. This year we just bought living room furniture, so we decided on a $20 limit for each other.

Birthdays we usually spend more, but even then it's usually under $100. I guess we're not just big "surprise" people. If we're going to spend big bucks we want to have each others input. I would actually be ticked off if dh spent too much on me.

It depends from year to year, sometimes as little at $25.00 or as much as $200-$300. I can't tell you about this year since DH is a DISer;)

Also depending on the year. This year I've spent about $100. In 2001 I spent $15,000 and bought him a new Harley! :)

This yr there will be a new 7dayplus hopper, SeaWorld tick and Universal tick under our tree for both DS & DH.
I also picked up lots of little presents for DH when we were on our cruise.

I used to get wonderful presents for christmas Last year we moved into our new house dec 3 and I was told the only present I will be opening is my front door. This year we decided to get a new van pick it up on the 12th (you guessed it Merry Christmas), and next year we are going to disney at the end of nov (so iI shouldn't look for anything under the tree. Thats ok xmas is fo r the kids (just keep repeating that to myself)

We haven't done presents the last couple of years. Both last year and this year our present to each other was our trip to WDW. Next year our present is our 10 day cruise. During the year we give each other things for no reason and we usually get what we want for ourselves as well. He's my greatest gift and I thank God for him every day!

I don't have a SO but I will spend at leats 500 on me. :D

It usually depends...some years we buy for each other and some we don't. When we do it's usually around $200 on each. That doesn't count any presents from DS and DD. If we think of a special gift that's large, we've done that. This year we got a digital camera, instead of buying presents. In years pasts, if we have done a big remodling project on our house, we have skipped buying presents too. With us you never know....

We dont spend much on each other. This year I think I only spent about $50 on DH, and he will probably spend about the smae on me. We dont really care too much about the gifts, especially since DS was born. Besides, if there is something we really want, we usually just buy it. Actually, it is killing me to not go buy the books I put on my wishlist.
DH will take DS shopping one day next week so he can pick a gift to give me. I will sign DS's name to DH's Pirates Of The Carribbean DVD.
DS gets such a kick out of giving gifts that this is more fun. Granted, he cant keep a secret. He and DH were in Blockbuster the other night when DH tried renting POTC. DS saw the DVD in his hand, yanked it away, and said 'you cant get that, it will ruin the surprise'

Since DH's family doesn't exchange gifts (a topic for another thread) and my family over does it a bit I try to make up the difference for him. I'd say I spend around $300 for him.

Not very much.

I'm with you. We don't usually exchange any gifts, but if we do, it's usually under $100/each. This year I did go ahead and get him the "Band of Brothers" CD box set. He had mentioned it, so I got it for him.

My birthday is so close to Christmas (13th) that this year, when he asked me what I'd like for birthday and Christmas, I said I would love to have a piece of jewelry in Blue Topaz (December's birthstone).

So, this past weekend we went shopping and he bought be a beautiful Blue Topaz ring AND a bracelet.

But this is VERY UNUSUAL and probably won't be repeated anytime soon. But we got a very good price on each and I had been wanting something like this for years.

We usually buy things for the house every year and justify not doing anything extra at Christmas.

We decided when we first started dating to not exchange gifts on special occasions. We've both seen too many couples go way beyond their means on gifts for the SO. We have also been saving up for a condo so the money goes towards that.

is 30 dollars a ok price? I'm getting DBF 3 things and I wanted to get him the Panama Jack necklace since he got me my necklace last year(the DVd is for the player he shares with his roomate(a guy) and the GC is for a dinner with me)
