How much do you spend on your maintenance?

haircuts about twice a year... 40 including tip
usualy have eyebrows done to.... 10 including tip...

100/yr.........

thats pretty much it..... do my own nails , toes etc....
buy make up when on sale like today I brought 4 loreal lipsticks at 75% off... total was a little over 10....

so I'm guestimating $ 100 year for make up skin care etc...

no gym memberships...

so I am real low maintance..... 200/yr....... whats that $8/month

I am super low maintenance:

Deoderant, razors, shampoo, hairspray & facial cleanser for the month $15

As for gym $0 - I mow the grass every week April - Oct and walk for free in my neighborhood

Get a free tan while mowing and walking

2 haircuts a year at $25 each with tip

2 pedicures a years at $35 with tip

My mom buys me makeup for christmas every year so $0 out of my pocket

Family Y membership $60
hair cut/color/wax every 5 weeks $65
shampoo/conditioner/makeup/cleansers $50 a year

Averages out to $70 or so a month I guess.

I am low maintenance, especially now that I'm in school and funds are tight.

haircuts - trim my own, it's curly & looks the same whether I pay an expensive cut, cheap or not, no one ever knows the difference so why pay

hair color - $5 a box, I usually do it every 2 months
makeup - drugstore brands, buy my favs on sale when needed
no tanning - I'm pale & freckled & do not tan regardless
do my own tweezing
WW on my own from past membership - 9 down, 15-20 to go
walk/run outside, home treadmill or DVDs -love the Shred - $10
do own pedis, love painted toes

My big "splurge" is Loreal face creams but I think I only spent about $22 on 2 of them & they'll last awhile. I need to get some summer SPF lotion though.

DH is low maintenance too. Once he started shaving his head, he realized he didn't need to pay $10 every month. He bought a $20 shaver and we do his own whenever he wants.

maintenance hmm...... let's see... :teacher:

DH trims my hair, if it needs coloring I do it myself. Once a month (if that), a coloring kit from Walmart, about $7.

I don't mani or pedi, I do my own nails. $0

I don't tan, too bad for my skin. $0

I don't wax, get massages, or have a gym membership. $0

I don't wear makeup or perfume, but I do splurge about once a month and treat myself to a new Bath and Bodyworks lotion and/or body spray. I only buy sale items, and/or use coupons, so its usually about $20.

Shampoo/conditioner: I buy the cheap stuff, right now I have Suave. I usually buy it about twice a month, and each one costs about $2. $4 twice a month is $8.

So, my monthly maintenance costs are about $35 a month, $420 a year.

NOW if we add prescription and OTC drugs in there :scared1:... they ARE necessary to "maintain" me, after all. I currently take 4 different prescription meds: 2 for BP and 2 for seizures. 3 of the 4 are generic and very cheap, one is not so much. Grand total for those is $68 a month. I also use an OTC acid reducer for heartburn, but I use the WalMart generic version, so its only about $10 a month. So another $78 a month for meds, $936 a year. :scared1:

I think I'm pretty low-maintenance, too.

My biggest splurge is my hair. I refuse to go anywhere cheap because I have thin, blonde hair that is hard to cut right. So, every other month my haircut is $50 (very expensive for the area I live in) and twice a year I get a hilite that is $75.

I don't do facials/manis/pedis/massages or anything.

My workout is running the dogs in the morning so no gym membership.

I buy cute clothes but make sure they aren't super trendy so they last for a couple of years.

My make-up lasts forever so I only buy mascara every few months.

I use Suave shampoo and buy it when it's on sale.

I guess that's it. So, my monthly budget is about $50 on haircut month and $0 on the other.

My DH should be one happy boy!;)

I used to be in the almost zero category. Then I got the CC's paid for, got a new job and still kept the spendthrift ways on grocery, toiletries, and clothes. No cable, almost never go out to eat. Taco Bell is our night out! HAHA! I now have the funds to indulge. It also helps that we have no kids.

Y membership $66/month (I think this is really a great deal since we go 4-5 days a week and it includes all classes, pool.)

Every 5-6 weeks- pedicure, massage and facial $150 (I know that's sacreligious on a budget board)

Haircut about every 4-5 weeks ~$110 plus tip

I'm pretty low maintenance also, I guess.

I get my hair cut 3-4 times a year, but my aunt is a stylist and won't take any payment for it. When I lived farther from her I just went to a $20 place 3-4 times a year. I generally color my own hair (not with kits from the store but with products from Sally Beauty) even though my aunt will do it for me for free.

No gym membership anymore...when the weather is nice I'd much rather be outside walking or hiking, and I found it was a waste of money the rest of the year because I was so bored there I wasn't using it. It was 45/month for two of us.

I used to be a nail biter. I've done artificial nails a few times but they ruin your real ones, so once I was able to quit biting I just spend a little on good tools (glass nail file, a good strengthener, etc) and just maintain my own. I buy polish sometimes online at wholesale prices too - I probably spend less than $50/year on this. I'm not crazy about having other people's hands on my feet or massaging me either, so I don't spend anything on pedis or massages either.

Tanning's out of the question for me...even if it weren't so bad for your skin, I'm so pale I only burn and it would be asking for serious trouble. Generally I embrace my paleness but sometimes I use a sunless tanning lotion by Queen Helene, which is pretty inexpensive.

I don't do Weight Watchers, but my health insurance through work does have a program where you can sign up totally free (for the in person meetings, or online) and they pay your fees for it. If I have a hard time after the baby, I might do that, but it wouldn't cost me any fees.

I do like nice handmade soaps and body products, and I wear some makeup - I would say my monthly average total for all upkeep throughout the year including toiletries, makeup, lotions, sunscreen, etc would probably be about $50/month or less.

I am interested in laser hair removal though, so I wouldn't have to shave - it sounds expensive but maybe I can point out to DH how relatively little I spend on myself the rest of the time and make a case for it. ;)

With me this is it-
No gym, no tanning, no nails, no hair color

I have my hair cut every 6 months at my old salon 5 hours away(7 with traffic which is always!) So that's $65+20 tip + about $300 for gas, hotel, etc. I know I'm crazy but when you constantly get horrible cuts its worth it to drive back "home" I just call it a mini vacation! At least my stylist moved from the $200/per haircut place to the $40 non snooty place(extra for medium/long hair)

Beauty products including haircare, make up stuff $10-15 a month(A bottle of hair product lasts me almost a year) I use witch hazel as my toner($2 month), CoverGirl foundation(Lasts 6 months min.) and suave shampoo is amazing especially once I matched the $1.25 bottle to the bottle of my old shampoo with half the amount of product that cost $15. Same ingredients and still I swear suave cleans so much better.

Vitamins $8.00 month

No Prescriptions $0

Don't know if it counts on here but I count it as my maintenance :laughing:Here's the bad one.....CLOTHING! That's $200 a month on my very good months.

The only maintenance type thing I spend money on is haircuts about once every three months for $50.

I do my own nails. I run for exercise so my only cost is running shoes but I guess you need to buy exercise clothes no matter how you exercise. And I've never worn make-up so I don't have that expense.

Just incase you weren't aware, Hair color expires. It usually has a long shelf life, but if it was on sale because it was getting close...you might want to check if you didn't already. And, speaking from experience, it makes a difference if it is old.

As for my maintenance,

haircut every 8-10 weeks, $22 incl's tip.
DD colors my hair at home so $9. per 6-8wk.
no pedi or mani, unless someone gives me a gift card
make up about $45 per year.
no gym membership since disability

OMG! Aint that the truth! Not to mention, the plastic bottle can get brittle and break! I had haircolor at home that was just over a year old... went to apply, and half-way through, the squeeze bottle busted right down the center. Color splattered on the walls, floor, vanity. Plus I was halfway done so I slapped up the rest I could ooozing out the sides of the bottle (no more careful parting/sectioning) so I could hustle up and clean up the mess.

Of course, the color came out awful and uneven. Then I lived with it for a good month so my hair could recuperate.

Just had my friend do my hair at her salon this week. She made me promise to never color my hair at home again. Had 2 bottles I bought on clearance at Target... I returned them. She says, for $50 she'll cut & color my hair if I come TO HER SALON for touch-ups every 2 months. Says otherwise, I'm not allowed to tell others that SHE does my hair :rotfl2:

I have never added this up, lets see....

Y membership: $49
Running shoes: Average $50/mth ($100 a pair every other month)
Haircuts: $30 month
Eyebrows: $5 month (every other month)
Color: $35 month (every 3 months)
Makeup: None
Tanning: Uhh, buy high quality organic sunscreen $20 month
Clothes: High end consignment shop, buy "new" clothes on credit for clothes I put in.

Grand Total: $189

Lets see
Gym Membership at School - Free with my tuition
Private Gym - $20 a year
Hair $6 every 3 months
Nails $20 every 3 months in the summer
Eyebrows $7 every few months
Tanning was $30 for the year (I don't go much)

I think I'm pretty low-maintenance, too.

My biggest splurge is my hair. I refuse to go anywhere cheap because I have thin, blonde hair that is hard to cut right. So, every other month my haircut is $50 (very expensive for the area I live in) and twice a year I get a hilite that is $75.
For anyone with thin hair, I recomend FAT HAIR by SAMY. It makes thin hair look thick. It costs about $8 a bottle.

I have no gym memberships - walk alot.
Hair cut about 3 times a year for about $15. Sometime wake up in middle of night and cut own hair(side affect of meds :goodvibes) Free
Buy about $100 worth of make-up and lotions a year.

Let's see. I buy a L'Oreal do it yourself hair color every few months (fighting the gray hairs!) and get a low cost haircut every few months too. I buy a bit of makeup now and then and lotion more often. I get a good supply of sunscreen at the beginning of summer every year and that lasts all year.

That's it I think.

I've never added mine up:

Haircut every six weeks - $16.00 with tip each :rotfl:
Pedicure every month - $22.00
Eyebrow waxing every three months - $10.00 each
Highlights every three months - $60.00 each
Mary Kay - $20-$40 per month
DISBoards Budget Board monthly have-to-buys - $50.00 - $200.00 :rotfl:
iTunes - $10 - 15 per month
Clothes - $100 month
Shoes - $40 month

That's all that I can think of at the moment, but I am going to start getting monthly facials as soon as I find a spa that I like. :lmao:
