I've never really thought about it, but let's see....

Gym membership = $75
Hair cut once a month = $40 (includes tip). I get highlights twice a year which then runs me $100 (including tip).

That's about it for me. I do my own mani's & pedi's.

I like to think I'm pretty low maintenance.

I have 2 gyms--1 at work for $30 a month and 1 at home for $20 a month The gym at home has free tanning, so one the rare occasion I need to tan, it's free.

I get my hair cut every 4 months for $120 with tip. No color.

I try to get my brows waxed once a month for $25 with tip, but i really do it more like every 2-3 months. I do my upper lip myself.

I only pay for pedicures in the spring/summer, and even then, I only go tops every other month and do it myself in between. Maybe I will get 3 a year for $30 with tip.

I don't wear a lot of makeup and what I do wear is drug store. Get my moisturizer and eye cream at Target. I do use a prescription retinoid, but the tube lasts me a few months for the co-pay. My biggest expense is hair product. Sulfate free shampoos, silicone free conditioner and gel is expensive, but it's the only thing that makes my curly hair manageable. But even then, I only use the really expensive salon stuff on special occasions when my hair has to look really nice, and use more economical versions from TJ's and Whole Foods on an everyday basis.

If we were to add in shoes and clothing it would be nuts except I am a great shopper and I get my stuff on sale or clearance.

about $10 for hair color every other month and that's it. We have a gym in our complex although I don't use it, but should start! I only get my hair cut once or twice a year so it's about $10-30 each time depending where I go.

For us, I'd put the Y membership into the entertainment category. I'm mostly a SAHM, and my kids take free gym and art classes there, plus we go to the pool all the time for fun. That said, I do work out at least 3x times a week. The Y is great for our family.

I got .10 soap at Pier One and am stocked up on shampoo from clearance sales.

As far as maintenance, I'm probably $50 or less a year. I don't wear makeup, hardly cut my hair, and am not into the styling thing...

Fun question! I think mine is pretty low.

Haircuts: $40 each time - maybe 4x/year, so $14/month.
Running shoes: $350/year, so $30/month. (This is like my gym membership!)
Total: $44/month

That's it. I wear makeup, but I get it free at CVS. I do my own nails. I don't need to color my hair yet.

I'm low maintanence - $20/mo for a gym membership, and once in a while I'll color my own hair on a whim. I'm a simple sort of girl, don't wear makeup except on very special occasions, don't have manicures or pedicures, and I trim my own hair when it needs it. I probably spend about $300/year all told.

I guess I am pretty low maintenance, my daughter does my highlights and I get a haircut about every six weeks ($20). I get a pedi whenever we go on vacation, we call them "cruise toes" - probably 4x a year at $25. (No we don't cruise 4x a year but still...)

I don't wear a lot of makeup since I work at home, and no gym anymore but we do have a pool, which is VERY lot maint since adding the salt system.

I cringed at the OP's tanning bill....that will one day turn into a dermatologist's bill thats going to be a lot more expensive. Please consider trading that $68 a month for a $10 bottle of SPF15 w/ tint! I was 42 when I had my first "severely dysplastic nevus" and let me tell you it scared me! It didn't look any different than the rest of my "dots".

I wear very little makeup and rarely buy it more than 1-2 times per year with the exception of lip balm which I buy more often. I have never really kept track of how long my moisturizers last, but I don't think I buy them much more than 2x per year (oil of olay 2 pack from costco & whatever body lotion costco has on sale with a coupon.)

Shampoo the whole family shares, again never kept track of how much I spend on it.

I tweeze my own brows at home so no cost there.

So I guess I spend somewhere around $1200.00 per year or $100.00 per month average.

This is a super interesting question! I haven't really thought about how much my own maintenance costs. I'm actually pretty high maintenance now that I think about it! But I'm fortunate enough my Mom who is a former hair dresser and cuts my hair for free. My Dad is a nail tech and owns a salon, so he does my mani/pedis for free. I work out at home on my trusty precor tredmill and I'm doing P90x (borrowed from good ol Dad ). I love love love make-up but I buy most of it from Rite-Aid or Walgreens and use coupons that make the cost next to nothing when it's paired with a sale. My new favorite in fact is the Covergirl simply ageless, love it! I guess I better tell the hubby that with all the money I'm saving we should increase our vacations from once a year to twice a year!!

My DH would probably disagree, but I guess I am pretty low maintenance compared to some other women. I get my hair cut every 5 weeks, which costs $32 including the tip. I have no need to color my hair, except for a temporary color that I use every couple of weeks in the shower to cover a few grays at my temples. I do my own nails, and I shape my own eyebrows. I do not go to tanning beds, since I'd rather be pasty white instead of tan and wrinkled.

I do prefer to use only Paul Mitchell hair care products, but since my hair is short, they last a long time. My makeup is all drug store brands, so that doesn't cost much.

Just incase you weren't aware, Hair color expires. It usually has a long shelf life, but if it was on sale because it was getting close...you might want to check if you didn't already. And, speaking from experience, it makes a difference if it is old.

As for my maintenance,

haircut every 8-10 weeks, $22 incl's tip.
DD colors my hair at home so $9. per 6-8wk.
no pedi or mani, unless someone gives me a gift card
make up about $45 per year.
no gym membership since disability

I'm in my 20s and very low maintenance.

I don't tan or get my nails done, I get a haircut like twice a year for around $15, I dye my hair myself every couple months for under $10, and I do my own tweezing

My husband would absolutely freak out if I was any more high maintenance than I am. He was lucky to find me

ETA: I also spend 0 on fitness, unless we hike at the state park and have to pay for parking. Usually I just walk at a nearby park trail, or do the 30 Day Shred on my computer. I bought the levels on amazon.com for $1.99 each (paid for with swagbucks!) and I do them daily.

everything else I do at home. I did pay about $120 to buy a gazelle to work out at home, otherwise I walk laps at the park for free or go hiking. No tanning, never had a mani/pedi, tweeze my own eyebrows.

I dye my own hair $30 a year I know isn't it amazing I always get my hair color (loreal excellence) on sale and stock up.
I used to get my hair foiled on a regular so I'd have these amazing highlights like you see on toddlers lol but then again that cost me upwards of $600 a year. Once the grays set it I gave up the fight and went with my own natural color granted enhanced by man-made products lol.
Mani/pedi 1 x a month $25 I repaint every two weeks at home.
I don't pay for waxing I had permanent hair removal some time ago
facial 1x a month $45 I do face masks weekly at home and use retina a daily $840. I know I know that is my week spot but I won't give it up.
I tweeze my own brows free
Gym membership $600 year
Massage 1 x a month $60

I don't want to tally cosmetics and products it would probably make me feel a little sad. Overall I've cut down tons I used to go to salon weekly for hair and nails and monthly for waxing.
