Apart from food, theme park tickets, petrol etc...

Just things like clothes, presents, etc etc.

Just come back spent just over £1000 !!!!!

We are not shoppers, all of us hate it:goodvibes
In August we were there 25 nights we bought 2 pair of converse trainers $50 and some Mickey Kitchen bits about $100. so about £100 total with other bits.
In 25 nights we spent about £1,500 on food, drinks, snacks, and purchases. Using credit card with no fees is a big help, got about $2.05/£1
We are lucky going 3 or 4 times a year don't need to bring lots home with us. I think people on 1st visits or only visit once every few years feel they need to bring more home with them.

We do like shopping but couldn't really say with any accuracy how much we spend.
I don't think it's close to £1000 unless I have anything special lined up before we go like a watch or something.

Last time we spent around £1300 give or take a few hundred :lmao:

On my most recent trip i reckon I spent about £100 on those little things and pressies, but I remember my first adult trip it was closer to £1000:lmao: I just don't feel like i need to bring half of WDW back any more, and of course anything i buy i have to pack;)

This year we went out with two suitcases and came back with 5 !!!!

depends on what i want to buy when i'm there:upsidedow

I love shopping at home, but when we're on holiday the thought of loads of shopping fills me with horror, so we spend very little and then only at DTD.

Of course the first few times we went, it was a different matter and we too had to buy extra luggage to get home.

Christmas 2006 - 2 weeks - spent around £2,000 on clothes, jewellery and hand bags. The Millenia Mall is just fantastic and I now have clothes for the year.

Some of these posts have reassured me. We have $2000 to spend. Tickets and meals are already paid for so this is just spending on goodies, I was wondering whether it would be enough. We have got to pay for Wishes and Illuminations (only our share, splitting it with two other families) and taxi fares and I'm giving the boys a bit of cash to spend. I agree with Wayneg, I can't think why people go all the way to Orlando and then go shopping in Malls. I know things are cheaper but a day out of my holiday to get cheap goods is not worth it IMO, Disney time is priceless.

I spent £800, most of it at the Mall at Millena in one day and at the world of Disney. I could of easily have manged on £200 If I had stayed away from the Mall as we had the Dining plan.

Still reckon it would have been more if we'd bought stuff at Disney which is outrageously overpriced!!!

Most of the stuff came from Disney outlet stores, Walmart, Super Target, etc.

ummm...i think id better not posst just howmuch incase my hubby reads this thread:rotfl:

we also bought 2 new suitcases thou;)

We spent about £1500 last time we went but I felt less guilty as a lot of this was on Christmas pressies! We also needed to buy 2 new cases!

I go every year with a near empty case and come back with it bursting!
I dont buy any clothes here whatsoever ( I like my big names) and i just cant bring myself to pay our over inflated prices, so i wait and wait and wait.
this trip is our first since our wedding 2 1/2 years ago, so i REALLY need to go!!

I spent about 500quid in the summer, but i got myself good quality clothes, in abundance. If i know im going to florida i wont buy myself any clothes at home.

Its so much cheaper than the prices we are subjected to here, especially for trainers and jeans.

We take time out to go shopping in Orlando because we love the shops but also it would be crazy not to given the difference in price. And i'm not just talking about cheap t-shirts or trainers. If there are specific things you want to buy i.e. a bracelet from Tiffany's, that same bracelet will be much cheaper in the U.S. than here. Same with designer clothes etc. So if there are one or two special things you want to buy you could save hundreds of pounds by buying them out there. And if these are things you really want to get and would buy regardless i'd rather take a day or two out of my holiday and go shopping and use the money I have saved from not buying it here towards my next Disney trip!

As an example, if I was wealthy (which sadly i'm not!) and I wanted to buy the Jean Schlumberger Lynn bracelet from Tiffany's it would cost £10,100 in the UK but in the U.S. its only $15,000 which is roughly about £2300 cheaper!!! That would pay for a whole other trip!

I agree booknut:thumbsup2 .There is nothing beter than a bit of retail therapy. My DH and I don't spend a lot in the uk on ourselves it mainly goes o our house and our DD,but when we go on holiday to Disney we always take £350 each to buy what we want. This year we had the DDP but did pay out of pocket as we booked extra meals so on food we spent about $300 and about $2200 on us and DD.Obviously we did buy some gifts as had a month full of birthdays when we got back.Realistically now the old student bursary has kicked in we will be taking a lot less. Our next trip is not planned till next December but we are looking at no more than £1000 and thats for xmas presents as well.I think the more you go the less you tend to buy souvenirs but the good discounts with clothes etc is not worth missing IMO.:thumbsup2
