How much do "unofficial days" impact attendance?

It looks like "Galliday" (for Dr. Who fans) AND "Rock Around the Park" (for rockabilly and psycho-billy fans) will both be unofficial celebrations on November 8, when I'll be there.

While mingling with Daleks, multicolored scarves and poodle skirts has a certain appeal, I also would hate to not be able to get in during my limited time at Disneyland/DCA due to capacity crowds - how likely is that to happen?

TIA for any information....

I've never heard of either of those so I am not sure how big they are. I know Gay Days and Dapper Days make huge impacts on crowds. I will be in DCA on the 8th and now wondering how that will be impacted!!

There are 2 kind of unofficial days. The ones that sell tickets and get a block of rooms, and the ones that are a group deciding to meet up. You never know when one will become popular enough to qualify for convention rate. Sundays are generally crowded anyway, especially that week with the unofficial holiday start. I wouldn't expect a gate closure except for sometimes they hold people for a few minutes of the immediate area is crowded and the lines to enter can back up. This usually happens when people try to hop before and after parades, fireworks and shows. You can avoid a lot of entry crowds by planning opposite those times.

So I found the Galliday FB page and it says there will be about 1000 of them and they will be at DL on the 8th.

Also found the Rock Around the Park and that is about 500 people also in DL on the 8th.

So neither should make that big of an impact.

As others have said, very few of the unofficial days really have a noticeable impact on the parks. For the most part, they tend to be fairly small groups (in grand scheme of the number of guests in the parks). Pretty much only Dapper Day(s) and Gay Days have a noticeable impact on the parks.

For your dates (Nov 8), I think you're more likely to see crowds due to Dance the Magic's Holiday Spectacular (it might be one of the parade taping days) and guests potentially visiting the parks after BizzCon ends.

Thanks ... I did find an itinerary for Galliday, and know now to avoid Pizza Planet at 1-2, and the Haunted Mansion at 5 pm. Rock around the clock may impact Buzz Lightyear Astroblasters between 5 and 6:30 ... but other than that, and some picture ops, it seems that not much is being do en masse (however little the "mass" may be).

Thanks again!
