How much do the ponchos cost?

It has been many years since we've purchased a rain poncho at Disney, and as I was advising my cousin to just bring cheap ones and then buy a Disney one if the need for something sturdier arose, I realized that my "they're only about $10" comment may have been incorrect. Anyone know the current cost of child and adult ponchos. Thanks!

It's been a while since I purchased one but if I remember correctly they are approximately $8 & $9 respectively.

Kids: $8.45+tax
Adults: $9.39+tax

It's well worth the price in my opinion.
They are very durable and if it rips they will replace it free of charge.

My current one has been on 8 trips and has been used at least once but usually 3-4 times per trip and we also like to wear them on Splash Mountain because I love everything about Splash Mountain except potentially being wet the rest of the day.
Often times the timing has been off slightly and I've gotten an awful lot of water in my lap like when I was there a couple weeks ago.

Some will say to just wear quick drying clothes and forget about the ponchos but unless you own quick drying underwear that will remain wet and that keeps you feeling nice and swampy.

Thank you, glad to know I quoted her the right price range after all! She has a party of 7 traveling, and was looking at heavier duty rain gear that was going to cost $10 or more apiece anyway - told her the Disney ponchos are a better deal because of the free replacement, plus you may not end up needing one so its better to wait and buy it if necessary! We bought one for my son many years ago (which im now giving to her to use since he's outgrown it!), but DH and I just dealt with the rain that trip. My son can't handle wet clothing!

If it's really humid, I find they work like a greenhouse and make you really sweaty and just as wet. It's actually one reason I don't use a ponco at disney. they are also clear so perhaps a non-disney one with a solid color would be better.

Disney poncho's are sturdy BUT they're really hot underneath and they take up a lot of space in your back pack/bag. I like the ones from the dollar store/dollar tree....I throw it away after each use, they're cheap enough to dispose of. If you wanted to reuse it you could. They wont take up a lot of space in your bags. Plus i like that they're lightweight so its not like a sauna underneath.

I agree 100%! They are bulky and heavy! We have the disney ponchos and bring them every trip but only carry them to the parks if the radar shows ALOT of rain. We too bring the cheap disposable and more importantly, lightweight ones, to keep in our bag daily or for Kali.
