When I was a kid, the tooth fairy brought me a quarter for each tooth I lost. Now that I am a mom, the tooth fairy brought DD two dollars for her first tooth (because it was special) and one dollar for each after that. Now I am hearing that some of her classmates get five or even TEN BUCKS a tooth! This seems a little excessive to me.

Am I just cheap? Are baby teeth really worth $10.00???

She brought us dimes when we were kids. It was enough to buy some penny candy.

She brings my son 1.00 each tooth. At first she brought gold dollars, until ds requested paper dollars. Again, it's enough to buy some candy, same as when I was a kid.

Twice, since he's been 11, she's forgotten. On those occasions she comes the next night and pays double or triple.

I told DS that each child gets their own personal tooth fairy when they are born. His tooth fairy is now getting pretty old since tooth fairies are so small, their life spans are rather short, and she's forgetting things like his grandma does sometimes. He just grins at me and says, "Whatever, mom. She can forget all she likes if it gets me more money."

for the first one Tink (we were at WDW) brought $5 in Disney Dollars and a Tink pin

after that the tooth fairy brings $1 to $3 depending...one that gave DD a hard time and the ones that had to be extracted were $3..the rest $1 :wizard:

$1.00 for each tooth.

For their first tooth ever lost, the tooth fairy brough them a real silver dollar. They still have it.

The first tooth from the first kid brought in 20.00 only because the freakin tooth fairy was too lazy to go to 7-11 for change :rolleyes1 So she has to bring 20.00 for each first and anywhere from $2-6 for the subsequent teeth.

I gave $5 for the first tooth and $1 or $2 for each tooth therafter..although for one, my friend told my daugter that the tooth fairy was sure to give her $5. :rotfl: So I gave her $5..though that friend did force my husband to take $5 from her, so actually she gave the $5. All in good fun!

One Gold Dollar for each tooth.

LOL! This just happened to my ten year old DS. He lost a tooth the other day, and the tooth fairy "forgot" that night. She felt so bad she left extra money the next night. :teeth:

$5 for the first tooth
$1 for each tooth after that! :teeth:

ds has yet to lose a tooth..but I'm planning on $5... he usually puts most of his allowance in his savings acct. so I don't mind giving him more since he is responsible w/it. If he just wanted candy or junk then I probably would stick w/a $1-$2 to blow...

Over here, the tooth fairy leaves a favorite snack such as a candy bar or bag of goodies. Sometimes she leaves a new book or special toy. One time she left a note...only a note...and it was the biggest hit of all. She has never left money.

The tooth fairy also brings $20 for the first tooth here, and then whatever we have handy for subsequent teeth- usually $3-$6. She also has been known to give a little more for front teeth since they are bigger. I wasn't sure how to vote, but I went with "more than $10"

My dd's got $5 for their first and the rest are worth $4 ($2 fromDH and I ,and $2 from Grandma &Grandpa)! :sunny:

DD11 was one for pulling her teeth with the first sign of a wiggle. It seemed like the tooth fairy was always at our house. I don't remember what she got for her first tooth, but it was usually $1-2 after that. That tooth fairy must be a busy fairy as she was often late to our house. :rolleyes1

DD7 lost her first tooth at Vero Beach and Tinkerbell helped the tooth fairy out. I think she got $20 + a Tinkerbell pin. DD lost a tooth I think going one 2 weeks ago now. She left a note for the tooth fairy asking if she could keep her tooth for awhile :confused3 . When I asked dd what she was keeping it for she told me it was a secret :rotfl2: . I keep asking her when she is going to give it up to the tooth fairy she says she's not done with it yet. :confused3

$5 for the first tooth and $1 for each tooth after unless it was pulled, then it goes to $5 for pain and suffering! :teeth:

Usually when these threads come about, ours is one of the cheapest tooth fairies around. That's OK, my kids still think it's cool they get anything. :rotfl2:

For the first tooth it's $1.00 plus a pack of bubble gum (or in the case of my 6 year old since he doesn't like bubble gum, it was a pack of chocolate).

After that it's .50 tooth.
