I have read on here to tip one dollar a day per person plus one dollar, but we had 5 ppl and I tipped $5 a day the first 5 days then bumped it up to $6 a day the last 4 days once I got some small bills and had 1's on me to leave the extra dollar. I forgot to tip on the last day/day we were leaving.
My husband thought it was dumb to tip someone who makes 8 or 9 dollars an hour but we had a 2 room suite with 4 beds to make up every day and 2 bathrooms to clean. She deserved a tip from us.
but I have always tipped when I go to a hotel. I don't think they get much more then minimum wage.

Neither do some bank tellers, cashiers, or even radio DJs. Lots of jobs pay $8-9/hour, but for some reason only certain ones get tipped.![]()
Bank tellers aren't cleaning your toilet. Tip the nice people!
housekeeping come in once during the week while we're there and on the day we check out. I tip well each time but since im a server who relies on tips to support my family i have a tendancy to overtip. But we dont need someone coming in every day. We hang and reuse our towels at home, make our beds and pick up after ourselves so I see no reason to be any different in disney.Bank tellers aren't cleaning your toilet. Tip the nice people!

Agreed. My feeling is if I can afford to go to disney. Then I can afford to tip people that are not as fortunate as me. I would hate to have to live on 9.00 dollars a hour. I can't even imagine how they get by.

Exactly. There is no rhyme or reason for who you tip or why. It's a completely random socially driven phenomenon.Agreed....and I do tip....but in this vein, many people who make well below $10/hr such as nurses aides, do more than clean a toilet, they clean up you! And they're not allowed to accept tips. Just sayin'.
