I'm curious about how much power we should have over our own threads. Should we have the power to close or delete a thread we started? The Mods can't always be there to close a thread and if we, the originator of the thread, want to delete it, shouldn't we have the power to do so? Or should it remain on the boards? Just curious. :thumbsup2

No, I don't think that we should be able to delete threads.

I think when you post it, it becomes part of the "community". You can "own" your posts and can edit those, but you cannot delete other people's posts. Not your property to delete.

I think we should be able to delete our own posts or threads.

No way!

I think people should need to be accountable for the threads they start. If anything, I think the DIS policy is too liberal and people should not be allowed carte blanche access to having their threads closed.

Many of the other forums I belong to allow one hour to edit/delete a thread by the originating poster. After the hour only a mod or admin can change/move or delete.
