How Much Did YOU Gain on the Dining Plan?

Now that I got the package with dining, I can just imagine how many pounds I'll gain during our week-long stay. My family of four usually shares one appetizer when we eat out, and we usually don't get dessert. With this plan we each get our own appetizer ... plus dessert! And this is after eating a full counter service meal with dessert. I know we could skip these extras, but feel we need to get our money's worth. I know we'll do a lot of walking in the parks to make up for it, but don't think it will be enough ... I've read on other boards that people have gained up to 10 pounds from taking advantage of the dining plan. Yikes!

I gained 5 pounds there and 3 more after I got home because I coundn't get my mind off vacation mode. But when I go on vacation I really induldge myself. I am now 2 pounds down really trying to lose those extra 6 pounds by New Year's.

I'm just hoping to remind myself that just because we can have the food doesn't mean we have to eat it all. I've worked really hard the last two months and lost 25 pounds. I certainly don't plan to gain it all back just because I've paid for all that food. We'll still share appetizers and desserts and still come out ahead money wise. We may not save the hundreds others are reporting, but we'll still save.

We were at WDW for 10 days earlier this month. I gained 3 pounds and DH gained 5. It could have been worse, but now we really need to get our "healthy eating focus" back on. It isn't quite there yet.

we were there 11/8-11/13 & used the dp. I had just lost 12 lb's prior to wdw trip. anyway I ate very well and did not gain any weight-you do do a "lot" of walking. :cool1:

I normally do not gain weight because of all the walking even though we enjoy our meals and snacks.

Our last trip was a 4 day weekend on the dining plan and I didn't gain any weight and I thought for sure I would but I did try and stick to my low carb diet so maybe that's why but I did have a Mickey Bar, the pretzel sticks at Le Cellier and a Mickey Waffle!!

DH and I both LOST weight while at Disney, even on the dining plan.....we drank so much water and did so much walking.....DH lost 1 pound and I lost 4!!!!! I think all the water we drank in the parks helped out...as well as all the walking! :cool1:

My husband and I visited the last week in September on the Dinning Plan. I gained 2.5 lbs and I can't seen to get eating all the time out of my system since then, now I have gained more so I'm up to 4 lbs. Holidays are coming and that doesn't help. We went to Disney to celebrate my 36 lbs I had lost in the first place!

I gained 3.2 but I've taken it back off. I think all the walking helped. Heck maybe when I go back if I don't eat much I can lose a few with all the walking. No, can't do that. When your on vacation your suppose to be able to have what you want.

I lost 4 lbs. Lots of walking, avg 8 miles per day, and lots of water. I ate dessert at every lunch and every dinner.

We had the free dining plan when we went in September, and I'm amazed that I didn't gain any weight! I was a nice surprise since I worked so hard to lose 10 lbs. before we went. I guess all the walking we did made up for all the food we ate. I did end up with a couple of blisters though!

No one in my family gained any. We were sharing with our 2 yo old twins so that helped. THey ate our snacks with our other two kids. I also think all the walking, swimming and just general activity helps too. While we did eat alot, we just did not eat when we felt full. Have fun!

Didn't gain any. All the walking was the reason. Anytime you're walking an average of about 8 hours a day every day for a week, that tends to keep the pounds away, even with all the food on the dining plan. It's funny because this is one of the reasons I look forward to my Disney vacations. You can eat whatever you want and not gain an ounce!!!! Gotta love that! :cheer2:

i drank a lot of water.

was at the parks from the time they opened to the time they closed, and then would hit dtd on a couple of nights.

very little idle time......walked a lot.

and still this was the outcome:

10 days dining plan
10 pounds gained..........
