How Much Did u Spend This Holiday Season.

I'm still less than $100. We just got married a few weeks ago (still catching up!) and were considering not exchanging at all--but I watched for deals and got a few little things.

Kirkland's sent me a $50 off a $100 purchase card which really knocked out a bunch of presents. They had some great sales and I got a boatload of stuff for just over $50.

Bath and Body Works has had good sales, plus coupons and I got 5 people done there for about $30.

My cousin wanted something and I found it for $10 online.

DH and I aren't doing presents because we just got back from a week at WDW and are headed to DL in less than 6 weeks.

I need to go get some gift bags, tissue paper and candy and I'm done!!

DH is begggggggging for the Studio Beats by Dre which are $300. If a miracle happens--I may surprise him.

I am about $350 over budget. I picked up a few extra things for DD that I was not planning on getting because they were cute or a good deal. but the real reason I am so over budget is that Dh's favorite cousin just adopted 2 little girsl (7 and 9). We had no idea they were even fostering the girls and to welcome them into the family we are getting them a bunch of stuff.

Honestly, for me it's the best reason to be over budget.

I went over my budget by $2. I spent $1002 on 35 people (way more than I thought, first time adding them up).

This however does not include the budget for hosting Christmas dinner.

So far - HArdly ANYTHING!!!!! I have 10 days to Christmas Shop - CRAP!!! LOL - I have probably spend $200 so far on things for my DD and little gifts for a few other people... But Have lots to go - OMG I better get busy

I didn't really set a budget but am not done and have spent a fortune already. I always spend a lot on my kids but all the presents for nieces, nephews and family are killing me this year just seems like I am not finding deals on the stuff everyone wants.

About $100 on each of my kids (8 and 11) and $86 will go for mine from them and $200 for my DH from them (new phone he has to have). $50 on my mother, $50 on two nephews and about $30 on DSis from kids. $10 on teacher gift.

Think thats it! Little over $600

I was figuring on right around $1000 and right now I'm just over $900 (give or take, I rounded up and down on a few things). But there's still time! I just need to stay away from any deals sites! Will probably spend the rest of the budget on food and drink. Luckily we don't have huge lists to purchase for, just our 3 daughters, stocking stuffers for each other ($25 limit), the in-laws, DH's grandma and a token gift for my coworkers. My family doesn't exchange anymore thank goodness, but DH is an only child and his mom likes to make a big deal. Call me scrooge, but I cut out a lot of little gifts this year such as teachers, daycare, mail lady, pastor, trash guys, neighbors. It was getting out of hand and I feel so much pressure gone!

I am still not done yet but so far I spent $70 on my mom, grandmother, aunt, sister, three cousins that are kids, and DDBF (all was bought at my job cracker barrel during employee appreciation day when I had 45% off instead of 35%)

For my son's birthday (Christmas Eve) I spent $150 on a ticket and pit passes to the Daytona 500. Have not started on his Christmas yet.

For my daughter I got her a Florida Gators hoodie that was $50 but since I had it transferred to my store from the Kissemmee Florida store, I got it for $20 with my discount and it was 40% off the price. Still need to get her other things.

I'm impressed with your $1k budgets! We spent $400 just on our parents alone ($100 a piece)!

My budget includes a bunch of travel expenses, so I manged to come in under budget by getting FF tickets one way.

But I don't add in the "little" things I buy myself during December because I find great deals. These are usually things I need to buy, will need to buy soon, or have been considering for a long time but haven't pulled the trigger because there wasn't a good enough deal. This year, those items have been (1) a new interchangable lens camera (2) a camera bag for said camera (3) a Dooney & Bourke purse from their 12 days of Christmas sale and (4) a bunch of sweaters, etc. that are always such good deals this time of year. All told, I think I've hit about $600 on me :rotfl: But since I hardly spend a dime the rest of the year, that's OK!

We said we were cutting back this year and I think I've done a really good job. I hit up the Target sale in July for all the kids' toys and spent $200 on over $1000 worth of toys. They're getting maybe 1/4 of those toys for Christmas and the rest are being saved for next year or birthdays during the year. I would say TOTAL, I maybe spent $250 on everyone (DH, both kids, my dad, sister, MIL, FIL, brother in law, great grandma & teacher).

We are probably about $300-$500 over budget. DH and I set $250 budgets (not including stocking stuffers) for each other but I'm pretty sure I went over that. I need to add it all up at home. I think I went about $100 over my budget for DH but men's stuff is expensive! Oh well, I know he will go over budget for me. This is our first Christmas together married so it's not a big deal.

For DD10 we went over our budget for her mainly because we got her an awesome new Trek bike as her big present. Plus some toys and clothes. We don't get her anything other than for Christmas and birthdays so we go all out on Christmas.

When all is said and done we'll probably have spent about $2,000 total.

Wow that is something!

Wow that is something!

Thanks! I took advantage of the groupon deals a lot too... $6 for a $10 Subway gift card, $15 for $30 in Hasbro toys... stuff like that. For my MIL we're giving her all of her matching shirts for our Disney trip in May & her Mickey ears... pretty sure she'll love that.

I told DH not to spend anything on me but I know he won't listen. He never does.. lol.

I went slightly over budget. $700 for my two kids, $400 for dh, $200 for my sister and her family, my brother and my parents. Dh spent $300 on me. So $1600. I had budgeted $1500, but found a really great tool that dh wanted and got a good price on it so that is where I went over.

About $400 so far, but I have more to do. I think I have about $400 or so more to spend. It is all budgeted though.

This does not count get togethers where I took food or the gas to get to my relative's house, etc.....this is only gifts.
