How Much Did I Pay For This Self Inflicted Fun? A Wigdout trip report.

Well, I must confess there were no parasols at last night's soccer game. There was a cold wind blowing, and we were bundled up in gloves and hats again. I am sooo ready for some warm weather. :headache:
That wind can make all the difference can't it? I think we all are ready for spring! My crocuses are blooming here and the tulips are up!:goodvibes
We took the kids out at the end of the day. The sunshine was deceiving, because it was still very cold, but the kids loved being outside. I think the whole country is going to have an incredible celebration when this spring finally really kicks in with warm weather and green coming back to the trees!
It was upper 60's yesterday, sunny, no wind, the kids quickly shed their coats at lunch recess and had a grand time!

, that's a tiny bit better, but for now, I'm going to pass on all three bachelors. I think I still like the lumberjack type a little more than the lederhosen type. If a Disney lovin' lumberjack with no facial hair ever knocks on my door, I'll be happy to answer.
I think you mean the "Brawny" guy!

I guarantee you that Wigd will be giggling about your lumberjack comment!! :rotfl2:
Not hardly!
Charles and I both had a good laugh over it, too. I had to read it out loud to him when I saw MeMom's post. :goodvibes
Maybe Gaston!

I must have missed out on prior lumberjack jokes.
Shocker used to have a beard, someone once said that I described him as the lumberjack type....
I didn't.
It's been a bone of contention with us since.
So it was more of a groan than a giggle when I read it.....
:rolleyes1
OH HOW I WAS THINKING THE SAME THING!!!!

I laughed when I read that, then I said, "wait!" That is me she is talking about!!! ;)

AND not just me I know.... :rolleyes1

ONE week count down, one week count down YAY for you!!!!

:yay: :yay: :yay: :yay:

SO excited!

Loved your end of the day post for Christmas eve. How was dinner at Sunshine Seasons? I realize that we were there having dinner at Le Cellier, and Soonergirl was there eating on the other side of the lagoon! I thought Japan... or China... Cant remember now!

SO the window pics are the best, I can always count on you and MeMom to take them! I missed many this Christmas. I am glad the evening went well! :goodvibes Looking forward to Christmas day, and your mad dash final stretch to...

:cheer2: SPRING BREAK at DISNEY!!!! :cheer2:

You are right, I'm talking about a few of us in the the lushie dept.
We had a great meal at Sunshine Seasons, it's a great counter service!
I think I'll get that Christmas Day update done tonight....

A slushie lushie :lmao:
I've made my own in the summer for family parties. Grey Goose slushies are the new jello shot :rotfl:

I love Harper's Christmas pjs. So cute!

We attempted to make them on New Years Eve and they just didn't taste right. I wish we could buy the mix. We sure couldn't get them as smooth either.
We found her jammies at the Carter's outlet before the trip!

Here is a poster from last year's celebration. The party this year is July 22-25.

Hey! I live near there and we go to it almost every year! It's right before we go to WDW this year!

As much as we packed on Christmas Eve we still had a bunch to do in the morning, but we needed to get moving to breakfast over at Boma so we got dressed and made the trek to the bus....
Keeley had been working on Baylor again, so he was in a funk wanting to go home.
She wasn't speaking to us.
He was almost in tears.
Megan and Matt were trying to be cheerful.
Merry Christmas everyone!

We were seated immediately!

DSCN0440.jpg

Brunch was fantastic, if not a little strained....
As soon as Harper finished I took off with her so she could get up and move around.
I knew that they would be leaving and I wanted some time with her!

The lodge was awesome!
Harper was exploring all the nooks and crannies!

I don't think watching television this close is good for her eyes...

The Cast Members had decorated gingerbread houses some were pretty cute!

Harper and I checked them out...

It got a bit crazy when we got back to our villa, trying to get it all packed. Before we knew it, they were knocking at the door to pick up our bags.
We weren't quite ready, but they were nice about it.
Soon we were down in the lobby.
Baylor went to the community room to hang out.

DSCN0449.jpg

Marc and I took Harper and played with a bag of trading pins, she had fun taking them out of the bag and putting them back in.
Over and over again.
They were serving cookies and lemonaide.
We had some of that too!

392.jpg

We followed Matt and Baylor into the arcade and Harper played at playing some games.

Soon it was time for DME to pick up the big Kids.
With mixed emotions we said good bye.
Baylor was in tears.
I would see them in a few days, well most of them....

Coming up next,
Does the rain cloud go away...

Wow, Keeley really knows how to push your buttons! :sad2: I hope your Christmas day began to improve after the big kids headed out. :thumbsup2

Harper looks so cute in her Christmas outfit! There's just no words about Keeley.

What cool gingerbread houses! I think my favorite is the Spirit of Africa.

I'm glad you got to spend some fun time with Harper before they left. Her Christmas day outfit is adorable!:goodvibes

Poor Baylor.:sad2: I hope he's able to put it behind him and enjoy the rest of Christmas Day.

Baylor was feeling blue, there was no doubt about that. I was hoping we could do something to cheer him up!
This is awesome!!! I just showed it to Clay and he liked it too. Of course, I had to give him the story behind it. LOL
It is cute! Michelle did a great job on the design!:goodvibes

That Christmas outfit was another from the Carter's Outlet! I can't remember what other resort we were at but we saw more gingerbread houses....
They were such fun!

That would work. :)
That Brawny guy was quite a hunk!

Poor Baylor.:sad2: I hope he's able to put it behind him and enjoy the rest of Christmas Day.
I had fun letting Harper do her thing in the lobby! It was practically deserted!
I felt really bad for Baylor, he was super sad.

When the big kids pulled away our things had been sent over to Saratoga Springs. We had nothing to do but head to the bus...
It was still raining a bit and we weren't in any hurry to be out in it.
We decided to go to Animal Kingdom and catch a bus to a resort to get a bite to eat.
When we got to Animal Kingdom we just stood and thought about our choices. We really wanted to check out a resort that we had never been before.
This is where we chose to go....

397.jpg

Does this give you a hint?

How about this?

396.jpg

Yes, if you said CBR you are correct!

Marc and Baylor had burgers, I had a turkey sandwich. Everything was quite tasty!
Then it was time for some Christmas Day retail therapy!

We looked outside and the rain had stopped.
It was time to go to Saratoga and check in.
It's always fun to see where they are going to end up putting you in such a large resort.
We hopped a bus to DTD.
Then walked over to SSR.
We then got a bus to the lobby and checked in.
We ended up right back near DTD in Congress Park.
Just where we wanted to be!

Continued in next post.

Here's a picture of the Christmas tree at SSR.

We were delivered to our rooms bags and all and quickly decided to make our way to Magic Kingdom to salvage what we could of Christmas Day.
Let's just say when we walked in the mood lightened.
Baylor began dancing right down Main Street.
Marc and I just looked at each other and smiled!
All was right with our world again.:goodvibes
It was crowded yet manageable.

I took photos as we walked...

We ate a late meal at the Noodle Station, I had soup and don't remember what anyone else had. The chicken soup was really good.
It was crowded.
Cast members were keeping folks out.
You couldn't get a table unless you had a tray of food.
So I waited with Baylor until Marc came with our food, then we were allowed to the seating area to grab a table.
After we walked toward Big Thunder, I wanted to find a place for Spectro and the guys were going to ride.
I snapped this picture on the way.

With this we took the bus back to Saratoga and went to bed.
It had been a long day!
Big plans tomorrow!
Plus a big, big, thrill for a little boy!

Harper is so sweet in all of the pictures. Her outfit is cute, and she looks like she is just going with the flow.

CBR has a cool food court and such a fun tree!

I have almost bought that little Jiminy Cricket about ten times, but haven't done it yet.

It didn't take Baylor long to get happy. That was good for all of you. I bet you were really ready for bed that night.

Great update, wigd! I loved all the pictures. :)

Great update! Loved the shopping pictures and Spectro!
My favorites though were the happy Baylor pictures!:goodvibes

Well, you know what Donkey says on the Shrek Christmas special, "My mom always said Christmas wasn't Christmas until someone cries." I always laugh because that is truly the way it has always been in my family, but I am sorry that Keeley made Baylor cry on Christmas morning in Disney. :sad2:

AKL is so pretty decorated for the holidays, and I love the gingerbread houses (especially the Spirit of Africa one).

Hurray for checking out CBR! Their Christmas decorations are really neat! If I had been there I would have had to buy the Christmas Tink with the Castle pin, the reindeer Pluto pin, the Christmas pajamas for Chelsea, and the soccer Mickey for Charles. I guess I should budget a pretty big souvenir budget for 2011. :lmao:

I am so happy to see Baylor smiling at the Magic Kingdom!!! What a great way to spend your evening! :goodvibes

All was right with our world again.

Moments like that make all the other junk worth it. Glad the rest of your day went well. I love the Alice tea set!

Glad to hear Baylor found his pixie dust again and that you got to enjoy a MK evening! :thumbsup2

As you can see I'm in updating mode this weekend.....
With a trip coming up, I need to get two more days finished of this one so I can get the next one going when we get back so let's get going!

We woke up to another cool crisp day. We were happy to see no rain! Yay!

Animal Kingdom is where we were going today....

Brier Rabbit was out front for a photo op!

DSCN0469.jpg

We only had a few must do items on our list, one was ride Dinosaur so that was the direction we went.
On our way we noticed a group of young men that were rather large.
Well large doesn't do them justice.
They were giant!
We talked amongst ourselves and I decided to approach them to ask if they were with some football team that were playing in a bowl game.
They were!
Penn State!!
So I asked if they would take a picture with Baylor...
They said yes...
Baylor took off his KU hoodie,
and posed for this.

DSCN0470.jpg

As we walked off, one of the players gave Baylor a "rock chalk Jayhawk"!
Needless to say, we all were thrilled!
Plus they won their bowl game!

Baylor wanted to practice his driving skills.

DSCN0475.jpg

After Baylor's drive we had lunch here...

DSCN0471.jpg

Didn't get pictures of our food our anyone else's food MeMom! Baylor had the best though, he had the chicken and we all helped him finish his lunch!

On to Dinosaur and here we were!

DSCN0473.jpg

After Dinosaur we left the park we were on the go because we were heading to Old Key West to meet our friend Julia for a quick dinner at Olivia's!
Here we go on the bus....

DSCN0476.jpg

DSCN0477.jpg

If you have not been to Olivia's I recommend it! It's not hard to get into at all and it's good! Julia had a pasta and shrimp dish. She is from Louisiana and loved it!
I had an appy and it was good, we all enjoyed our food! We weren't really hungry, but will go again for sure!

Next stop was DHS!

We wanted to spend more time at Osbourne Lights so that's the direction we wandered...

Marc was snapping pictures.

It was getting late so we headed back to Saratoga watched a little television and went to bed. Tomorrow would be our last day in Disney and we had some fun people to meet!
